    Best Time to Visit Tanzania

    High Season

    The months of June through to September are generally the most popular when it comes to visiting Tanzania, as the cooler, drier and brighter weather makes it the perfect time to head out on safari. For the great wildebeest migration, you want to be on the Serengeti in mid-June to mid-July.

    Shoulder Season

    The hottest months of the year are from October through to February, so animals may be less active on the grasslands and active experiences are a little more challenging, but it’s still a great time to visit and if you visit in January, you may get to witness wildebeest calving season.

    Low Season

    March through to May is the rainy season, so tracks into the wilderness become less accessible and wildlife much harder to find. That said, the landscape is beautifully lush and green, it will feel as though you almost have the entire Serengeti to yourself, and it’s the perfect time to visit for birdwatchers.
