A wild maze of dusty streets flooded with tsunamis of mopeds, Phnom Penh is quite the culture shock when you step off the plane. Dig beneath the surface, and you’ll find shadowy, incense scented pagodas, opulent palaces, quiet green spaces, vibrant markets and excellent restaurants. But best of all, you’ll find a local population more happy and welcoming than virtually anywhere in the world.
