What you'll do

This is perfect for a getaway to the countryside. With its open plan, modern design and easy access to beautiful walks and cycle routes, it's great for the whole family.

Contemporary and minimalist, whilst retaining period features, this cottage was once used for storing carts on an old country estate.

It is extremely cosy and comfortable – it is heated by renewable biomass, has underfloor heating downstairs and is insulated with sheep’s wool. The spacious master bedroom looks out onto the old farmyard.  Modern furniture is complemented by a section of exposed blue pennant sandstone wall.  A stunning wet room has a free standing bath, waterfall taps and a rainforest shower, and there are two lovely twin/double bedrooms at the opposite end of the cottage

Upstairs is open plan.  A large modern kitchen with quality appliances and seating for six leads into a large living area with sofas and comfortable seating, it has views out to the woodland and a HDTV with Freesat.  There is a stunning floor to ceiling window looking out onto the farm, a wonderful viewpoint to curl up with a book and there is also an upstairs WC.

The interior has several art works by prominent welsh artists and some fascinating ancient artifacts from the site collected by metal detectorists over the years.

The house has its own private garden and parking area directly to the rear and a BBQ and Pizza Oven. The cottage is stylish, modern and well equipped and retains many original features and the historic atmosphere of the ancient estate to which it belongs.

Behind the garden is open woodland and a farm trail leading from the doorstep, along the bank of the picturesque River Clydach and into a bluebell wood. Guests are free to enjoy over a hundred acres of private grounds including hillside areas with panoramic views from Brecon Beacons in the north and Swansea Bay in the south

The cart house (or ty gambo)  is close to many attractions, walks and cycle routes as well as nearby natural beauty spots, beaches, castles, and museums, and Cardiff is only a short distance away for those looking for a fun day out – it’s a wonderful staycation option in the UK.
