Arrival in Snowdonia

Arrive in Betws-y-Coed, the gateway to Snowdonia National Park, ready to check in to your hotel from 15:00.

Take the afternoon to relax. Your hotel is situated in the picturesque Alpine-style village centre, positioning you perfectly for a potter around the pretty streets or why not take a wander along the banks of the idyllic River Conwy.

Enjoy a free evening to get settled in relax and unwind and get to know your fellow travellers, ready for your adventure to begin!

The adventure begins

Get set to go canyoning! We’ll take a short transfer to a beautiful river gorge where you will climb, scramble, jump and splash your way through the challenging terrain. This truly fun but physically demanding experience is a great day out in a stunning part of North Wales. Enjoy the views as together you abseil down waterfalls and leap from rocks into the river below!

Enjoy a free evening in Betws-y-Coed to relax after the physical activity of canyoning.

White Water Rafting

After a hearty breakfast and a short transfer put on your wetsuit, jump on your raft and head off for a morning of whitewater rafting. The Tryweryn river is a famous dam release rafting location in Wales. Ride upper Tryweryn’s natural, Welsh mountain whitewater rapids in an adrenaline fuelled morning.

Back in Betws-y-Coed you can enjoy the remainder of your afternoon exploring more of the village and the surrounding area. Why not take a walk up to Llyn Elsi or peruse the village gift shops before you enjoy a free evening.

Optional activity:

As always we like to offer something extra to do in the afternoon. It means you’re in control of tailoring your adventure to be as full-on as you want to make it. This afternoon’s activity is not for the faint-hearted – but then you wouldn’t be on this adventure tour if you weren’t up for a kick of adrenalin, would you!

You’re in the home of the world’s fastest and Europe’s longest zipline, where you can fly through the air at speeds of over 160kph! It’s exhilaration in its purest form. Hurtle headfirst over the old slate quarry, now a vast blue lagoon, and lay claim to having done the world’s fastest zipline. Spaces fill fast so book quickly.

Private Island Adventure

Pack your bags, you’re going on a real adventure! Your adventure tour continues with the next two days spent on a remote private island. We’ll take a short transfer to our coastal hop-off point for the island, where you’ll board a RIB boat to take you over to your private island retreat.

Enjoy the fresh sea breeze as you cross the water to arrive on your very own island. Spend the
afternoon exploring this incredible wildlife haven before settling down for the night with a hearty dinner in our small bothy-style cottage.

Return to the Mainland

Wake up to the peaceful sounds of rolling waves, enjoy a wholesome breakfast and take a stroll around the island. A wildlife lover’s dream; the remote island is home to thousands of nesting birds including Guillemot, Razorbills and Cormorants, as well as the rare Chough.

There is also a unique population of black rabbits on the island, believed to have been bought over from France many years ago! Venture down to the island’s lower shores where seals can be spotted lounging on the rocks and bobbing around in the ocean.

It’s now time to leave our wildlife idyll as we hop aboard the RIB boat and head back to the mainland.

Here you can enjoy some free time to spend in the bustling coastal town before we depart for our next location, Trearddur Bay, with its charming seaside hotel. Time to appreciate the luxury of a hot shower and a comfy bed!

Coastal Kayaking

After a tasty breakfast, it’s time to pop your wetsuit on and take to the water – this time by kayak! Kayak, meaning ‘man boat’, were boats originally used for hunting. Now they are repurposed as one of the best ways to explore the coast and appreciate wildlife up close.

As you paddle along the stunning and varied Anglesey coastline, keep an eye out for the resident Atlantic seal population. Peregrine Falcons, Cormorants and Shags are also common sights.

After your morning activities, you can take the afternoon at your own leisure. Take a walk around the town or grab some fish and chips to eat on the beach.

Coasteering

Enjoy a free morning to relax and explore the shops and cafes of Trearddur Bay. Take a walk along the sandy beach or visit a nearby attraction such as South Stack RSPB.

On your final afternoon, get ready to jump, climb, scramble and swim your way along the coastline of Anglesey. Coasteering combines the best of rock and water-based activities, and North Wales offers one of the best coasteering experiences you can find.

Scramble across rocks, get swirled around in the water and climb tough walls as far as you can before crashing back into the waves.

It’s a truly exhilarating experience and a fantastic way for you to get up close and personal with the rugged Welsh coastline for your final day of adventure.

What our travellers are saying...

I echo the other reviews: the tours are fantastic and Claire soon became a friend by the end of the trip! She's a brilliant host and guide. We tried SUP, hiking, canoeing and foraging - the itinerary was brilliantly crafted but flexible too. Would recommend to anyone wanting to see the best of Wales and experience the great outdoors.

Emma

Fantastic experience from day one! Perfect planning and always a backup-plan for bad weather. The best guides gave us the best time in Wales!

FAQs

Can I travel solo? Will it cost any more?

We don’t believe in charging people more for exploring our world solo, so we’ll always match you up with a likeminded traveler to share with. Your room in Beaumaris will be on a twin basis and in Llangollen you’ll be in either a multi-bed or twin room. The bell tents for wild camping each sleep up to 6 max. If you would prefer your own room we can usually accommodate that, though an extra charge would apply – simply select the appropriate option when you book your adventure tour online.

What do I need to bring?

- Swimwear – to wear under the wetsuits we provide
- Towel – to dry off after the water activities
- Trainers – these are to wear when canyoning and coasteering so will get very wet
- Sturdy, waterproof walking boots and walking socks
- Waterproof clothing – even if the forecast looks good, the weather can be very changeable in the mountains
- Warm layers – even in summer the mountains and the coast can be chilly
- Warm, lightweight sleeping bag – for one night of camping
- Small bag – only needs to hold your overnight essentials when camping and a change of clothes for the next day. We will transport this to the camp for you
- Lots of energy!

What are the travel arrangements?

You will be provided with an exact meeting point and time upon booking. Once there, you can leave your car for the duration of the experience free of charge, and you will be dropped back off there at the end of the 8 days.

What time is check in and check out?

Check in from 3pm on, and check out at 11am.
