The term rolling hills may well stem from the Brecon Beacons, as wild, rippling mountain plateaus covered in heather stretch off for 45 miles from the border in southeast Wales nearly to the coast, concealing idyllic waterfalls in beautiful wooded valleys and glacier-battered cliffsides.
