What you'll do

Overview

Head to the wild North Wales and the beautiful Isle of Anglesey, and take a deep breath as you relax in meditation practice and yoga, and come away feeling thoroughly rejuvenated.

This is the perfect break for anyone looking to escape the city for a weekend and head to the refreshing great outdoors for a true immersion in yoga.

You’ll explore Anglesey, an island of wild, windswept, beaches and idyllic rolling hills on foot, setting out on relaxed walks and hikes, and you’ll also enjoy downtime during restorative yoga, meditation and gong bath sessions.

During the retreat, you’ll discover areas that have been known by the locals for hundreds of years, but are also far enough from the tourist trail to feel totally unique, and like you’ve really escaped the crowds.

For anyone that wants to get away from it all and experience a bit of peace and isolation in a beautiful natural landscape, and for anyone searching for an in-depth yoga retreat, experiencing Yoga Nidra and expert meditation guidance, this is the perfect retreat.

Your accommodation is a magnificent coach house on the Plas Cadnant estate, which accommodates up to 11 guests. The house consists of two spacious, luxurious floors, including an impressive upstairs dining/sitting room, complete with a large wood-burning stove for those cosy evenings in.

The estate is located on 200 acres of stunning countryside, and you’ll be spending your time immersed in amazing gardens, hundreds of years of history, and a warm a friendly atmosphere.

As night draws in, candles, incense and log fires create a relaxing, homely environment, and comfortable beds complete with crisp, white sheets, piping hot showers and views across lush parkland make this the perfect place to relax and unwind.

The yoga space is just through the walled garden, past the majestic wooden gates to an oak framed studio built in 2012. The combination of hand-crafted oak beams, high ceilings and underfloor heating make it the perfect place for yoga and meditation.

Laura Bell

Laura landed into yoga quite literally after being thrown out of a boat in Australia 11 years ago and landing with a broken back. After 3 months of rehabilitation, she was able to walk again but was told her passion of running was no longer an option and that yoga would be the best form of exercise to aid her recovery. As she started to practise yoga as a way to keep her back strong and pain free, her love of yoga was born. After training with David Swenson in Ashtanga yoga a new yogic way of life flourished.

From teaching weekly classes and workshops she soon realised that she wanted to give her students more. It was then that her retreats were born. She found a stunning location, taught the yoga, led the group on coastal walks and with the help of her mum cooked the meals. It was very much a family affair, with her sister helping out and carrying out the massages. But demand for the retreats grew and now have a team of like minded, caring women running the retreats throughout the year. Laura is still very much involved in the running of the retreats and will often be there to help set up, sometimes with a baby or toddler in tow!
