Once you arrive at your country house, surrounded by acres of idyllic parkland, you’ll embark on a weekend adventure that will get you back in touch with nature, and leave you feeling refreshed and re-energised, and feeling the full benefit of escaping the city and returning to the great outdoors.

Each day you’ll discover a beautiful new wild swimming location, exploring the beautiful Anglesey coastline with its hidden, misty coves, secluded beaches, majestic sand dunes and stunning countryside.

These are spots that the locals have been using for hundreds of years, but they’re far enough off the tourist trail to still feel totally wild, wonderfully unique and completely unspoilt, so you can bask in the feeling of swimming in complete seclusion.

This is a yoga retreat suitable for anyone who wants to explore the stunning coastline of North Wales from a totally unique perspective, and for those people who really want to get away from it all and experience a bit of true wilderness.

Laura Bell

Laura landed into yoga quite literally after being thrown out of a boat in Australia 11 years ago and landing with a broken back. After 3 months of rehabilitation, she was able to walk again but was told her passion of running was no longer an option and that yoga would be the best form of exercise to aid her recovery. As she started to practise yoga as a way to keep her back strong and pain free, her love of yoga was born. After training with David Swenson in Ashtanga yoga a new yogic way of life flourished.

From teaching weekly classes and workshops she soon realised that she wanted to give her students more. It was then that her retreats were born. She found a stunning location, taught the yoga, led the group on coastal walks and with the help of her mum cooked the meals. It was very much a family affair, with her sister helping out and carrying out the massages. But demand for the retreats grew and now have a team of like minded, caring women running the retreats throughout the year. Laura is still very much involved in the running of the retreats and will often be there to help set up, sometimes with a baby or toddler in tow!

Feeling fabulous today for the first time in a long time all thanks to a weekend away with The Zest Life. A huge thank you to Kate and the Wild Swim team for an awesome sensory reboot.

This retreat is perfect for all levels; small groups ensure everyone gets the support they need.

What's the age requirement?

The minimum age is 18, however some mothers and younger daughters have come together.

What is the yoga space like?

Just through the walled garden and majestic wooden gates you’ll find the oak framed yoga space completed in 2012. The combination of lovingly handcrafted oak beams, high ceilings and underfloor heating make it the ideal surrounding for yoga and meditation practice. With the peace and tranquility of the surrounding parkland, it is a sanctuary from the outside world.

Who will my yoga teacher be?

4th September - Claire Riley

For Claire yoga has been a lifelong passion. She has been practising for more than 40 years and has studied with many inspiring teachers in many different styles. She qualified to teach at Camyoga in Cambridge in 2015. Her regular style of yoga is Hatha Flow. Each of her classes are carefully sequenced to safely align, stretch and strengthen the entire body on a physical level and to release tensions, emotional blockages and encourage the flow of energy on a subtle level. Expect a fairly intense experience but you are never pushed beyond your own limits. She gives modifications and progressions as required to suit your individual needs.

11th September - Kate Hamilton-Hunter

Experiencing one of Kate’s yoga classes is a perfect opportunity to find the balance that you need in life. Kate Hamilton-Hunter has been teaching since 2013. She began studying Hatha yoga and then trained in Dru Yoga, which is a more flowing style of yoga. Kate responds to the different needs of the group and accommodates all levels of yoga experience in her classes. Kate’s morning classes are more dynamic and energising, setting you up for the days activity. The evening classes will have a more restorative focus, with time for meditation, setting intentions and long nurturing relaxations. You will feel restored and revitalised from this retreats yoga sessions.

Can I share a twin room with another (female) solo traveller?
