Overview
The best of Hội An in three days. Soak up the rays on the white-sand beaches of the coast, discover the winding, beautiful lanes and alleys of the city, and get out into the countryside on an eco-tour that immerses you in the rural culture that most tourists don't experience.
Hội An is a city of incredible beauty, both in the UNESCO World Heritage Site that is its centre, on the beautiful white-sand beaches that line the coast, and in the lush green countryside that surrounds it.
You’ll arrive in Hội An and be escorted directly to your accommodation for the two nights, where you’ll have time to relax before deciding whether you want to orientate yourself in the complex of Chinese shophouses, covered Japanese bridges, Vietnamese tube houses and peeling French colonial grandeur.
Once a major trading port, the history of Hội An seeps through the winding alleys and the hidden staircases that lead to steaming street food markets or one of the many world-renowned tailors. Spend your day exploring this maze, maybe getting a fresh new suit cut and going for a boat ride on the lantern-lit river, or simply take advantage of the stunning Ao Bang beach for some downtime.
You’ll visit Tra Que village and get under the skin of Vietnamese culture, by getting up close and personal with local communities on an eco-tour that gets you off the beaten track for a really authentic experience.
Visit the bamboo handicraft area, explore the water coconut forest on traditional Vietnamese bamboo basket boats, learn to paddle them after lessons from the local people and watch the professionals in action in a bamboo basket boat performance.
There’s even chance to take part in a bamboo boat race, but if you can’t find the energy for that, you can just relax and catch crabs as the river floats lazily by. Try Hội An’s iconic Cao Lau, and come away knowing you’ve seen a side to Hội An that is missed by most, and had a proper, local experience.
