What you'll do

If Hanoi is the first Vietnamese city you visit, the first thing you'll notice will be the tsunamis of mopeds and motorbikes swarming through the city streets - tour the city like a local from the back of one of the all-time classics, and truly get under the skin of a city in perpetual motion.

Meet your guide and driver at your hotel reception, and after a safety briefing, we’ll begin your hair-raising food tour of Hanoi. The ride is going to show you the real, authentic Hanoi, the maze of the backstreets, the tiny alleyways, the local homes and the hidden markets.

You’ll take in the daily activity of the residents, you’ll uncover black markets, you’ll get properly off the tourist trail. Essentially, this is a tour you’re not going to see in the guidebooks.

Of course, you’ll also get to stop at some of the most iconic landmarks: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Tran Quoc, The Temple of Literature, the historic training track, the enchantingly beautiful French Quarter, the vibrant whirlwind of the Old Quarter, the tranquil lakes of Hoan Kiem, Hanoi Opera House and the renowned Long Bien Bridge.

From 1000-year-old Buddhist and Taoist temples, Vietnam’s oldest university, incredible examples of architecture and thriving cultural traditions, this is your chance to learn more about the history and the culture of this capital city, and the country in general.

And it’s not just the urban, get-up-and-go energy you’ll experience. You’ll visit the poetically beautiful, peaceful villages and floating communities along the Red River, getting a rare look at these more isolated parts of Hanoi.

Throughout the tour, you’ll try a wide variety of dishes, giving you a taste for Vietnam’s world-renowned cuisine. From local eateries to hidden food stalls, the food you try will be the result of the authentic flavours that are handed down through the generations. Secret recipes, family traditions, local delicacies and individual specialities have all combined to craft the perfect dish, totally unique from any other.

The whole tour will be an enthralling experience from the back of your Minsk motorbike, the staple, quintessentially Vietnamese mode of transport. Hold on tight as you weave through the chaos of Hanoi, and experience the city as it is supposed to be experienced – like a local.
