After breakfast, we’ll pick you up from your accommodation and head out on a private 2-hour drive to Hoa Lu, the ancient royal capital of Vietnam. En route, we’ll stop at temples that represent a step back in time, dedicated to the Dinh and Le dynasty kings.
Then, we’ll get properly off the beaten track, and continue onwards to Tam Coc, an incredible area of limestone karsts erupting from the iridescent green rice paddies.
Here, you’ll board a traditional sampan for a spectacular 2-hour voyage through hidden caves, tranquil waterways fringed by palm trees and majestic rural landscapes of endless glimmering rice paddies sitting beneath imposing, soaring limestone cliffs.
Then, enjoy an authentic Vietnamese lunch of truly authentic, home-cooked dishes at a local farmer’s house. He will welcome you warmly and share his life in the countryside with you. Listen to how rural life is lived day to day in this stunning region of Northern Vietnam, and learn about the traditional farming methods that have been practiced here for hundreds of years.
Relax and enjoy some fresh country air at his home, enjoying the peaceful, rustic atmosphere and picturesque garden. Finally, we’ll transfer you back to Hanoi.
