What you'll do

On this unique walking tour of Seville, your local guide will show you the city of Seville through the female perspective, as you uncover the stories of the women who made Seville the city it is today.

Once you’re picked up from Costurera de la Reina, you’ll be led on a two-hour tour of Seville, taking in all the major sights and some local secrets. Learn the stories of the women that have shaped Seville, from powerful queens to famous lovers and lowly cigar girls.

You’ll learn all about these cigar girls at the imposing Old Tobacco Factory and discover the role of women at the quaint Costurero de la Reina (the queen’s sewing box), and at the stunning Maria Luisa Park.

Here, you’ll be able to see some of the incredible architecture that was a result of the 1929 Exposition, including the awe-inspiring pavilions and beautiful palaces, before heading into the winding lanes of the old Jewish quarter, Santa Cruz.

In Santa Cruz you’ll enjoy a refreshing stop in one of the many atmospheric bars in the area, to break up the hugely significant historical monuments that dot this leisurely walk through the city.

Some of the women you learn of will have stamped their authority in the history books, whilst others will be completely unknown, but all will have played a role in making Seville the city it is today.

The tour will finish at the very square where Don Juan laid his hands on a certain Doña Inés, one of the most famous literary moments in Spain.

Get a unique perspective of Seville through stories often not told enough, and understand the role women have had to play in the past and present of this fascinating city.

Mahsa

A traveler since the age of 16. After a motorcycling trip in West Africa, I returned home to Seville, Spain with a new perspective on the importance of travel for both locals and visitors. Taking a closer look at Seville, I realised that the city I knew and loved was not the same one being packaged to unknowing travellers. The culture that made Seville so special to me was completely inaccessible to tourists. I was determined to find a way to give fellow travellers an authentic experience of Seville and Andalusia. A way to be invited into the culture as a close friend and not just a tourist.
