What you'll do

When you're hiking to "The Edge" you know its going to be an adventure you're not going to forget in a hurry and that's even before you've laced up your best hiking boots! You'll be taken along the centuries old, famous pilgrimage route St James Way, just a stones throw from San Sebastián. Step through ancient woodland, twisting coastal paths and experience some of the most jaw droppable views you're ever likely to lay eyes your eyes upon!

After hotel pickup or meet at Zurriola beach, your adventure will begin with a 3-4 hour hike starting from La Zurriola beach right in the city. Kick off with exciting, aerial views of San Seb, then continue up through ancient woodland twisting along the coastal path with unbeatable views out over the sea towards France. The carved out cliff track then winds down for you to be greeted by one of the last hidden secrets sights of the area “San Juan”. An intriguingly, lovely little Basque town with narrow winding streets set right on top of the water. Following the hike we will sit down for a well-deserved traditional lunch of the absolute classic dishes from this coastal region. Dining right on the water’s edge with stunning views – this will be an experience to remember!

You’ll then be dropped off back at your hotel with your adrenaline still pumping and your jaw still near the floor.

I am a British girl who has been based in the Basque country for the last 11 years after I completely fell in love with the place and the culture. I have a great perspective of exactly what being a tourist in the Basque country means and how to make your San Sebastian tours as individual, memorable and as special as possible. I absolutely love San Sebastián and having lived here a long time, I found that a lot of the tours and experiences were the middle of the road, regular activities. We take people off the beaten track, it’s all about trying something and stepping out of your comfort zone. And that's exactly what we allow people to do.

What our travellers are saying...

Loved our time in St Sebastian ( eating, drinking and enjoying the sea front ) but wanted to see more so we signed up for a half day trek.. Sounded hard work but we need not have worried. We were collected from our hotel and set off led by our guide. He set a pace that matched our fitness ( ! ) . He was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the history and the many features and views that we passed on the way. We walked for about 3 hours with

Stunning coastline through the national park above San Sebastián, our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and really made the tour. We had a fabulous, authentic and great meal in San Juan. The little local ferry across to San Juan was a real highlight. A great way to see this amazing part of the world, can’t recommend this tour highly enough.
