What you'll do

Of all Mallorca's incredible caves, there are only a few you can swim in, and we offer a unique opportunity to explore one in Cova de Coloms.

After a short swim into the cave, we travel deep underground, where your experienced guide will lead you through maze-like structures and underground lakes, deep into the heart of this caving adventure.

Cova de Coloms is one of the only sea caves that you can swim into here in Mallorca, and is located off the coast of Cala Romantica. This hidden cavern is just a 300-metre swim along the coast and a quick, thrilling duck under the water and through the concealed entrance.

As you emerge from the crystal clear water, you are greeted by this magical cave, a cathedral of dripping stalactites and mineral formations. Sea caving is absolutely Mallorca’s number one way to cool off out of the sun, whilst discovering places that tourists simply wouldn’t find themselves.

To reach Cova de Coloms, we need to hike for 40 minutes along a beautiful coastal track to a stunning secluded beach. The walk offers amazing panoramic views of the shimmering Mediterranean and the rugged east coast of Mallorca.

Sea caves stalagmites are different to those that you might find on land, as the movement of water affects both the formation and mineral the content of the structures. These conditions create a vibrant range of reds that glisten, diamond-like, on the walls of this subterranean labyrinth.

And to enjoy this experience, you don’t need to have been caving before, as these vertical cave systems are a perfect introduction to the underground world of caving.

You don’t need to have been scuba diving or even snorkelling, as your guide will provide you with all the support and expertise you could need to make the day run smoothly and enjoyably.

Sea caving in Mallorca is a unique and unusual twist to add on to your holiday, and can become a full day activity should you decide to pair this exciting tour with Coasteering.

The day requires no experience but, obviously, be prepared to get wet. If you are a non-swimmer please let us know when booking the activity. You must be in good physical condition, and declare any medical illnesses.

What our travellers are saying...

This was excellent, as someone who travels often and looks for extreme and different. The guides were fantastic, the activity itself was beautiful and exciting and loads of fun. They picked us up from our hotel and were running 15 minutes late and they called to apologize for the delay to confirm they were coming, I was so impressed they were so on top of everything. We did the sea caving, it's a bit more of a physical activity then we were expec

Absolutely excellent day with Joan. As a single female joining the group was very easy. Enjoyable from trek at the start and the scenery to the swim in the sea and entering the cave. Nervous of the sea but felt totally at ease with Joan’s expertise and the caves were amazing. All round knowledge of the area and informative, really fun day out. Definitely recommend

My husband and I had the most amazing day sea caving yesterday. Our guide for the day, Juan picked us up at our hotel at 8:30 and it took about an hour to get to the other side of the island. During the drive he was telling us all about the caves in Majorca (over 4000 of them!). We arrived and met up with the rest of the group (there were 8 of us in all and an intern guide from Holland). We were given our backpack with wetsuits, buoyancy vest and
