What you'll do

The city of Cape Town is big and filled with life but it’s not the whole story. The southern peninsula is simply spectacular with views of spectacular mountains lining the shores. The beaches and oceans themselves are bountiful with a large variety of flora and fauna. Our Penguins, Peninsula & Pinotage adventure will take you on a magical mystery adventure of the most scenic areas of the southernmost part of the Western Cape.

Starting in the hugely popular Hout Bay, a coastal town famous for Chapman’s Peak and the stunning bay. It’s a great place to grab a cup of coffee and we know the perfect spot. Tucked away in the sleepy Hout Bay neighbourhood, in a classically styled shop sits a café that makes a mean cappuccino. We think it’s best to start there.

The next stop is world famous, and we will get there via the road that makes Hout Bay so famous – Chapman’s Peak. With sheer cliffs, amazing views, wildlife-a-plenty and a former WWII army base, stop two is on everyone’s bucket list of places to visit in SA.

Do you like penguins? Cause we do! Those little dapper-looking cuties love our third stop and we’ll get to see them in their natural habitat, with all the additional beauty that comes from the beaches lining the peninsula. Golden sand, aquamarine waters and more penguins than you’ll be able to comprehend.

Lunch is up next and we’ve picked a goodie. With a menu packed with fresh seafood and a view of the ocean, lunch is something to look forward to. Being able to lounge by the sea and enjoy the tastiest of ocean produce is a bonus of being on holiday in a place like Cape Town – soak it up, because life doesn’t get much better!

There’s a little seaside town, known the city over for quaint shops, bohemian fashion, delicious fare and charm like nowhere else. We’ll take a walk along the main street and duck into some of the establishments that make the town so beloved. A visit to the area is only completed by some exploring of the harbour and a photo-op with the antique fishing boats.

We like to end most of our tiring days with a glass of wine, or five, so we figured it would be the best end to our Penguins, Peninsula & Pinotage tour. The final stop is a winery is the stunning Constantia wine valley. Complete with delicious wines, panoramic views and great company, a winery is a perfect end to a perfect tour with Kiff Kombi.

Upon arrival, this couple travelled extensively around their new city. As tourists themselves, it became clear that Cape Town was the best city in the world but it was missing something. Before settling in they embarked on an African adventure and thanks to many long bus journeys and a lot of time to ponder, the Kiff Kombi Tours idea was born.

“It’s usually South Africans moving to Australia, however for Sophie and I, we are bucking the trend and have made the move to the Rainbow Nation. People often ask why Cape Town, and the answer is always, well have a look at this place.”
