What you'll do

Cycle around the magical Peninsula on routes of various distances to suit your own fitness levels accompanied with an experienced tour guide to show the secrets of the Cape and discover its turbulent history!

Collecting you from your accommodation in Cape Town and surrounds, you have various route choices ranging from 80km/50 miles to the more challenging 125km/80 mile loops. Following the coast on both sides, you will experience the changing majesty of the scenery en-route whilst enjoying quiet tarred roads and the abundant wildlife on the way. There are many opportunities for coffee/cake or lunch (I know all the best ones ;-) along with the most advantageous photo stops as we ride together. This way we have the time to explore the route of the World’s biggest timed cycling event (known locally as the Argus, now the Cape Town Cycle Tour) and so much more WITHOUT racing it and missing all there is to see and experience. Come and see it for yourself, you won’t regret it…

Being a keen sportsman from my school days, I’ve always enjoyed the competitive side of running and then latterly cycling, whilst still trying to climb the corporate ladder in a full time career back in the UK. Having realised my true passion and calling was combining this with my love of history, something of which I studied at College, it seemed a natural progression to become a qualified cycling tour guide.

Having spent many happy holidays in Cape Town, we(my wife and I) decided to follow our hearts and move to the stunning Cape and set up our cycling tour business here, something that was sadly lacking on our visits. Being a very experienced and passionate cyclist I believe cycling is the only way to see and experience how much Cape Town and her surrounds has to offer and how truly breathtaking the scenery really is. Come and see for yourself!

What our travellers are saying...

Joined Mark for a 45-mile ride around the Peninsula at the end of a business trip to South Africa. He offered various route suggestions in advance and had no problems doing a one-to-one ride (I was travelling alone). The bike was decent, and Mark took my fitness level into account and set me up with a triple chainring; I needed it as I used every gear ratio during the ride! The ride itself was spectacular, mind-blowing. Mark is both extremely

Mark took us on an excellent ride that was just right for us and our two young sons. Plenty to learn along the way and a great fish and chip lunch!

We really wanted to do a cycle that allowed us to enjoy the best of Cape Point. Mark was extremely helpful and supplied us with excellent quality bikes, fitted to height and suitable cleats. We collected bikes from Fish Hoek and cycled down to Cape Point, with a short detour ( Well worth it!) to the Cape Of Good Hope and Back. The cycling landscape was gorgeous and a real delight to cycle through. Mark was extremely helpful and advice on routes a

It doesn't get any better than cycling the Cape with Mark Lawson. He is knowledgable, engaging, and above all an excellent guide. He looked after every detail, selected great places to stay, eat and ride. With his associate Brian driving the van which accompanied us throughout the trip, I can't say enough good things about the whole experience. Choose Mark's Cycling and you won't be disappointed.
