Walk around the lake for the rest of your day, taking approximately 1 hour to walk around the entire lake. This is one of the most popular walks in Slovenia and for good reason!

Take a Pletna (traditional wooden boat) boat ride to the island on Lake Bled. Once you arrive, climb the 99 stone steps to reach the Assumption of Mary Church, where you can listen to the church bell ring. You will also have the chance to ring it yourself – and legend has it that this will make a wish come true!

Hike along the Mostnica Gorge and Voje Valley

After breakfast you will be taken to Bohinj where you can check in and drop off your belongings at your new hotel.

Today you will be taking a hiking trail that runs along the Mostnica Gorge and Voje Valley, belonging among the most beautiful natural sights in Bohinj.

They offer views of crystal clear pools and boldly water-shaped rocks, as well as diverse flora and fauna and a cultural landscape that has been nurtured by the people throughout the centuries.

The formation of the approximately 2 kilometre long gorge is partly connected to the tectonic sinking of the main Bohinj valley and partly to the glacial deepening caused by erosion.

Four bridges and a footbridge cross the Mostnica on the way from Stara Fužina to Mostnica Waterfall, so our ancestors named the river after the bridges: Mostnica (“Bridge Water”). The most famous site is the Devil’s Bridge (Hudičev most) which was, according to the legend, built by the devil himself.

Length of Walk: 12 km
Time: approx. 4 hours
Height Difference: 200 m ascent/descent

Spend the rest of the day at your leisure. You will have some free time to enjoy the Bohinj Lake. During this time you are most welcome to swim in the lake or enjoy the variety of watersports available.

You will then return to your accommodation for the night.

On this day you will explore some wonderful parts of the Julian Alps. It will be a round trip over the most beautiful parts of Bohinj Lake area.

Start your hike on Planina Blato plateau (1147m). The first stop will be Koča na Planini pri Jezeru (1453m). Mountain hut is located in the heart of mountains called Fužinske gore. Right by the hut are few Sheppard’s houses. Just few meters below is a lake of a green colour.

The view of the surrounding mountains is limited because of the vibrant forest nearby. Although you can still see Debeli vrh, part of the Ogradi and Kovačičeva glava. This will be the perfect opportunity for your first break.

Continue to Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih (1685m). Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih is situated between lake Dvojno jezero and artificial lake Močivec, the latter is a source of drinking water for the mentioned mountain hut.

From the mountain hut or its nearby surroundings a stunning view opens up on the already mentioned lake Dvojno jezero, ridge Špičje, and scree and peaks, which surround eastern part of the valley Dolina Triglavskih jezer.

You cannot get enough of these beautiful mountain lakes. Views are simply stunning. You will then slowly start your descent in order to reach the next stop.

Dom na Komni Mountain Hut (1520m) is situated in the eastern edge of plateau Komna, which is sweeping steeply into the Bohinj valley. The views over the lake and surrounding mountains are magnificent.

Since I have started studying tourism, I knew that I wanted to plan trips in our part of the world. After years of travelling, experiencing new activities and getting to know the people who were willing to share their knowledge and stories, it was only natural that I jumped at the first opportunity and decided to open a tour operator agency with my friend Tomaz, with whom we've known since our studying years. It took a great deal of work and exploring, but we are proud that today we can offer such a high-quality service for all our clients. Their encouraging words and words of gratitude are what drives us forward. Still, every single trip I plan, I plan with the same enthusiasm as at the start and I think this is worth a lot!
