What you'll do

Get a glimpse behind the scenes of Flamenco, and immerse yourself in authentic Spanish culture in this high-energy Flamenco, in this brilliant opportunity to meet the locals and understand this world-famous dance.

Flamenco originated in Andalusia, so there is really no better place than Seville to take your first steps in learning this art form with a rich history, and its roots firmly in southern Spain.

You’ll be met in the Macarana district, and led to a picturesque, authentic courtyard with numerous art studios, that serve to immerse you in the culture of this very much bohemian part of the city.

In the 60 minute session with local Flamenco dancers, you’ll learn the basics of this art form that combines music, singing, dancing and rhythmic clapping. You’ll learn all the well-known moves, the heel clicks, the dance steps, the hand movements, whilst also uncovering Flamenco’s surprising origins.

There’ll also be an opportunity at the end of the session to book a high-quality Flamenco show for the evening, that takes place in an atmospheric local bar. Please note the show is not included in the price of the experience.

You’ll be able to watch the professionals put what you have learned into practice, and truly immerse yourself in this definitively Sevillan culture.

A traveler since the age of 16. After a motorcycling trip in West Africa, I returned home to Seville, Spain with a new perspective on the importance of travel for both locals and visitors. Taking a closer look at Seville, I realised that the city I knew and loved was not the same one being packaged to unknowing travellers. The culture that made Seville so special to me was completely inaccessible to tourists. I was determined to find a way to give fellow travellers an authentic experience of Seville and Andalusia. A way to be invited into the culture as a close friend and not just a tourist.

What our travellers are saying...

This was such fun!! My friend from school and I rented the costumes and had such fun learning about the history of flamenco. The costumes, different rhythms, hand and feet movements were all expertly (and entertainingly) shared by our guide. I would highly recommend the experience as excellent value for money. My only regret is not also booking the flamenco show through this teacher.

Sam

Thank you to Kati our patient and lovely teacher for teaching us some flamenco and giving us an educational appreciation of the story and skills involved. It really helped us have a better understanding of the show we saw later that day - we all loved it - thank you.

We had a fantastic experience taking a 1-hour class with Kati. She taught us basic flamenco steps, gestures, and clapping, incorporating them all into a short choreography. She also told us a great deal about flamenco's history and the present-day culture of it in Sevilla, which was very enriching (especially if you have or will go watch a show). She also had recommendations of where to go see flamenco in Seville. Overall, the hour flew by and we
