What you'll do

The benchmark when it comes to white water rafting experiences in the UK, this adventure on the River Findhorn in the Scottish Highlands is a combination of wild rapids, stunning scenery and tranquil moments of floating through the wilderness.

When you arrive at the activity centre, you’ll be welcomed by a member of the team, who will then sign you in and take you through the events of the day.

You’ll jump onto a bus for a short ride to your start point, whilst your instructor and guide for the day gives a safety briefing. Start by practising rafting on the water and then some minor rapids, before the adventure picks up the pace and you navigate through Randolph’s Leap into the spectacular rushing waters of the Lower Findhorn Gorge.

From this point onwards, you’ll be tackling incredible rushes of white water, stomach-churning waterfalls and corkscrewing rapids, all interspersed with section of calm water that allow you to sit back and enjoy the scenery.

And what scenery the River Findhorn offers. It’s one of the last main rivers untouched by man in the UK, and offers the best white water rafting adventure experience in the UK thanks to its unparalleled scenery and exciting white water.

The variation of breath-taking natural landscape makes it stunningly unique. This adventure flows through native Scottish woodland, traditional highland farmland, local game estates, dramatic towering gorges and ancient red-sandstone cliffs.

You’ll find an abundance of local flora and fauna which is maintained by conservation charities and local landowners. Whilst on this adventure people have been lucky to spot red and roe deer, ospreys, other birds of prey, salmon, otter, red squirrels, grouse, pine marten, extensive birdlife and more.

Halfway through your adventure, you’ll take a short break to grab a snack and take part in a cliff jumping session. If you’re brave enough, you can reach up to 30 feet, for an adrenaline rush like no other.

There is always the choice to walk around any of the larger rapids for those that want to skip out at a few points, and your guides will always ensure everything is done safely and within everyone’s comfort zones.

At the end of the white water rafting experience, the bus will collect you and take you back to the centre, where you can dry off and relive all those exciting moments that happened throughout your Scottish adventure.

Tracey Lamb

Tracey loves adventure! That’s why she’s been doing this for over 9 years, she loves to have a laugh and Tracey and her team will keep you entertained during your adventure.

Outside of work, Tracey likes to walk her dog (Winston) and spend time with her family of two strapping boys David and Andrew as well as friends.

She is a keen advocate of line dancing and all things boot scootin (watch this space as she might just start running wooden adventure line dancing retreats in the near future!!!)

Technically, there is no upper limit to how many people can join one of these experiences, but we always ensure there is at least 1 instructor for every 8 customers.
