What you'll do

Get to know one of the most beautiful cities in Europe from a unique perspective, as you explore Edinburgh with a guide who will unlock the very best-kept culinary secrets and help you get to know the city like a local.

On this secret food tour of the Scottish capital, you will not just eat delicious treats but also learn about the history of the food so you can understand Edinburgh’s thriving culinary scene. You’ll see Edinburgh’s Old Town on a personal level and taste the dishes beloved by the locals.

At the end of your tour, you’ll have sampled some of Edinburgh’s most delicious dishes and gained a better understanding of Scotland’s culture and history. All of this rich history is just a side plate to the main course of tasty warming and most importantly, accurate Scottish cuisine. You will get to try some of the most famous dishes like Haggis (don’t be worried it tastes a lot better than the stories you hear about what’s in it!),whisky, cheese, tea and Scottish cakes and of course a secret dish…

Quality drinks will be served at some stops, however if you would like more, a thoughtfully curated Upgraded Drink Package is available. This will involve two drink selections chosen to pair with the food you’ll be served, whether that’s a local craft beer, or a classic Highland whisky liqueur.

Location

We’ll meet in front of St. Giles Cathedral at 12 noon, on the west parliament square side, opposite the French consulate. If you have any questions. Please email hello@nitgb.com.

As you will find with Edinburgh there is a wonderful mix of the old and new. Our choice of location in the Old Town is going to give you the most traditional, interesting and, on occasion, slightly dark feel to Edinburgh.
