What you'll do

Overview

Head to the stunning Scottish region of Argyll and the Isles, and experience a short break exploring the rugged coastal landscape by kayak, bike and on foot, whilst staying in your own cosy cottage situated on the Crinan Canal.

Once you arrive in your two-bedroom cottage on the Kintyre peninsula, you’ll spend 5 days and 4 nights getting to see the very best of the spectacular corner of Scotland.

From sea kayaking off the stunning coast made up of sea cliffs, wide, empty beaches and rugged islands, to cycling along picturesque canal paths and hiking through dramatic hillsides, the scenery in the area will take your breath away.

Your incredibly attentive guides will take you on the trails and to the places that tourists don’t know about, so that you get to know the area like a local, and your hosts will provide you with home-cooked, three-course meals on three out of four nights.

These will all be traditional Scottish recipes to give you a taste of authentic Scottish cuisine. Expect starters such as wild garlic pesto and gravlax (salmon) with homemade bread, mains like hand-made pork and game pies, and desserts to die for such as the classic Dunfilan pudding.

Your guided cycling and hiking excursions will have their routes determined by you. Whether you want to challenge yourself with some hills and a long hard ride, or simply want to take a relaxing walk around the local area, all the routes are stunningly beautiful and perfect for anyone after an adventure holiday in Scotland.

Whether you drink in the otherworldly Kilmartin Valley with its scattered ancient monuments, some of which date back 5000 years, or wander through the atmospheric Dunardy Forest, you can be certain that your guides will find the very best hidden routes for you to enjoy.

The sea Kayaking route around the coast and islands is 150 km long, and offers some of the best sea kayaking in Europe, so whether you are a novice or experienced, your kayaking day with your local  and experienced guide is sure to be one you will remember.

In your free time, you can head out on walks to the big empty beaches that lie all over the peninsula, find the trails that wind through the nearby forests, or just walk to Ardrishaig to soak up the calm, small-town atmosphere.

*There is an option to self cater if you wish – see the booking page*
