What you'll do

Explore the most incredible landscape on the Azores by land and water, as you cycle the incredible trails and kayak on lakes in volcanic calderas on a unique, activity-filled day in stunning natural surroundings.

After you’ve been picked up at around 9 am in Ponta Delgada, you’ll head for the incredible area of Sete Cidades, an area where deep blue lakes suspended by volcanic craters lie high above the ocean, and sheer ridges and peaks over beautiful views all over the island.

The day begins when you’re picked up by your guide in Ponta Delgada at around 9 am, then you are driven to the rim of the Sete Cidades caldera. Spend the entire morning feeling your jaw drop further and further as you pass blue-green lakes suspended between mountain ridges that plunge down to the gleaming Atlantic Ocean.

After a light lunch in these surroundings, you will drive along the south coast to the bottom of the caldera, where you have time to explore the area by bike and paddle on the stunning lake itself in your own kayak.

We feel this is the best way to explore this wild, powerful landscape, by actively immersing yourself in the environment and feeling the amazing energy and beauty of the place.

After a light lunch in these surroundings, you will drive along the south coast to
