Renowned for its incredible surfing conditions, Ericeira is the ideal place for your 7 night surfing holiday in Portugal; stay at this great surf camp where they have created the perfect place to meet fellow surfers & relax after a day in the water with top surf tuition from certified instructors.

Spend 7 nights on this surf holiday in the beautifully preserved beach side town of Ericeira, with miles of beaches to explore and world class tuition at this incredibly social surf holiday and camp in sunny Portugal.

Perfect for absolute beginners to intermediate surfers, the knowledgeable instructors will have you gaining confidence, standing on your board or tackling green waves within just a few days. Keeping learning groups small, there is plenty of focus on every student so they get the tuition they need.

With 8 hours of included surf lessons, you can use your free time to get more practice in or try your hand at something new, such as yoga or SUP – just be sure to make the most of all this gorgeous area has to offer.

This well loved surf camp is actually a converted traditional Portuguese house that has been renovated to offer comfortable accommodation close to great amenities. Along with plenty of public and private places for you to relax in, it is also a perfect social platform. Feel free to use the BBQ and cook up dinner with new friends, grab a book and hide in a hammock, or nap on a sun lounger after another great day in the water on your Portuguese surfing holiday.

 

Arrival & Accommodation

– Check in from 16:00, although some choose to arrive earlier
– There is a luggage storage room just in case your room is not ready and you would like to relax until check in
– On your arrival day, you can meet the others, and learn about your schedules, house rules, and  nearby shops, beaches, and restaurants

Accommodation

This excellent Portuguese surf camp is located just a mere 30 minutes from Lisbon Airport in the lively town of Ericeira, where in under 10 minutes you can be on the beach, trying out a new restaurant, or loading up on great food at the local supermarket.

The surf camp accommodation offers a variety of rooms to work with your personal needs, whether it be a single or double for those who would like more privacy, or dorm rooms of up to 5 for those who like to engage in a more social atmosphere. The communal kitchen, BBQ, lounge areas, gardens and hammocks outdoors also offer plenty of space to unwind and enjoy socialising into the night.

– The accommodation is set in a traditional Portuguese house which has been converted into the ultimate surf camp
– The camp has dorms, triple and double/twin rooms; dorms sharing with up to 5 and all options with shared bathrooms
– The house has 5 bathrooms and showers, each of which are cleaned daily
– House keys given upon arrival along with lockers and padlocks for guests
– Prices are based on shared rooms and bathrooms but you can upgrade to a private bedroom or an additional supplement if you wish
– Fully equipped kitchen and dining room with tea, coffee and water available throughout the day
– TV room, mini library, and places to relax both outside and in, along with sunbeds, hammocks, a garden and BBQ
– Pool table inside, and foosball table outside
– WiFi throughout
– Less than a 10 minute walk to beaches and the town
– Please let us know at the time of booking if you have any specific dietary requirements and the school will do their utmost to accommodate your requirements for your breakfasts

A Typical Day

– These days you will get up, have some breakfast, and hit the beach!
– You will be put into groups according to your level, and get the opportunity to watch yourself improve daily and fall in love with the sport
– After the surfing you have free time to spend the day as you choose

– Today is your free day to do as you wish
– Your hosts provide some options for you, so you can rent some equipment and hit the water, or perhaps go on a cultural excursion nearby
– If there are things you wanted to check out in the area, use this day to explore

What can I do in my free time?
– Ericeira is alive with people, street fairs, lovely shops and boasts a great variety of bistros, cafes and terraces
– You can also take advantage of the arts, culture, and many festivals that take place throughout the year
– Evening starts slow, with plenty restaurants serving dinner until late, pubs, bars, folk parties and even a club open until 6am in the summer
– Farmers’ markets run daily
– In your free time, try out some other water sports in the area or practice your surfing

– You’re asked to check out by 11am, however feel free to store your luggage, use all common areas such as the kitchen, TV room, and outdoors, until your departure

Location

Ericeira is a great place to learn to surf or build on the skills you already have. A recognised World Surfing Reserve, it was the first destination to hold such an honour in Europe. And just under a 10 minute stroll from the town and beaches of Ericeira, you’ll find this fun and sociable surf school which makes for the perfect holiday; with laid back communal areas, tons of new friends to make and instructors who can’t wait to see you master the waves.

Great location, friendly & helpful staff, clean & tidy. Definitely worth the money! The surf lessons were great and I personally progressed a lot as a beginner. Teachers were very professional and I felt very safe in the water. Yoga studio was great as well and had really good teachers. During a day off Sintra was easily reachable with a taxi. Ericeira is a nice holiday town with full of good food so during the week we didn’t end up cooking

Who is it suitable for?

- Suitable for complete beginner to intermediate surfing levels

- Surfing is great fun for everyone but it’s best to bear in mind that it can be physically demanding sometimes

- Holidays run from June to October with arrivals on Saturdays

About the surf equipment

- On this holiday, you will be kitted out with the surfboard that’s right for you and your level, along with a wet suit and insurance so you don’t have to worry about bringing much
