What you'll do

If white wine and the tastes of Portugal are your thing - this is a full day packed with both for those who appreciate a day out experiencing the finer things.

Meet your expert wine guide for the day at the Porto Hotel lobby before taking off towards the Ponte de Lima – one of the most characterful and charming towns of northern Portugal. This northern medieval village spreads lazily along the tree-lined banks of the River Lima and is named for the impressive Roman bridge of 27 arches that span the water. Here you’ll experience a tour and wine tasting at one of the oldest Vinho Verde producers renowned for their spectacular white wines.

After your visit, savor a traditional lunch of flavorful and hearty regional fare in a charming local restaurant before your second visit of the day.

Basking in the afternoon sun along snaking vines of the Minho, you’ll not only taste through their internationally awarded white wines, but you’ll also be treated to a tour through their stunning estate. If you adore lush green landscapes, vibrant wines, and exceptional storytelling, this tour is perfectly suited for you!

Ryan Opaz

Having spent over a decade touring and speaking about the lifeblood of Iberia, and Knighted by the Port Wine Brotherhood, Ryan is our designated "wine guy" for Portugal. Word to the wise, however, never ask him for his favorite, as he's bound to respond, "The one I've never tasted." His talents also extend to jaw-dropping photography, spectacular coffee roasting, tea tastings from far-off lands and mouth-watering cuisine. "Portugal has a wide range of fantastic wines, but few people know the value of their sparkling wines. Portugal's Espumante is absolutely worth exploring!"
