What you'll do

Overview

Discover two of Norway's most compelling cities and some of it's grandest scenery on this week long adventure from Oslo to Bergen, along the way enjoying fjord cruises, magical bike rides and hikes, and a look at local culture, cuisine and history on guided tours of both cities.

Fly into Oslo, where you’ll be picked up by your driver and taken directly to your accommodation. You’ll have a free evening to relax and refresh, ahead of your week long adventure that leads you from the capital to Bergen, on the west coast.

Your first morning will be spent learning all there is to know about Oslo on a tour with a private guide. They’ll help you to get to know the hidden gems that most tourists miss, and see the city through a local lens so that by the time you finish the tour, you’ll already feel at home and as if you have enough insider knowledge to be an Oslo ‘expert’.

After a free afternoon and evening to explore, your next day begins when you take the train northwards in the direction of Bergen.Far from your average commuter train, this 5 hour journey will give you a taste of the stunning scenery that awaits you on the rest of your trip.

You’ll stop off at the highest train station in the country, before cycling your way down through magical mountain roads to a cafe with a serious view, before you head to an authentic ‘Viking’ pub, where you can try traditional Norse food and ale.

Your next day will be spent admiring beautifully preserved churches dating back to the middle ages, as well as the historic ‘Kings Road’ which provides the route for your easy hike through some spectacular mountain scenery.

Embark on your first fjord cruise, as you spend 5 hours drinking in the sites of Sognefjord, the largest and deepest fjord in the country. You’ll also enjoy a guided walking tour of the city of Bergen, allowing you to get under the skin of the city and get to know it like a local, meaning that when you explore alone, you’re armed with invaluable knowledge that’ll help you make the most of your time.

By the time you head home, you’ll have seen some of the most spectacular scenery on earth and visited some of Norway’s best hidden gems thanks to a little local expertise – and you’ll already be planning your return trip…
