Embark on this unforgettable week-long hiking and adventure yoga retreat, where breath taking hikes, boat excursions, and daily yoga sessions merge to create the perfect blend of relaxation and exhilaration.

This extraordinary journey offers a perfect blend of relaxation, exploration, and self-discovery. Each day begins with gentle morning yoga sessions, set against the backdrop of breath taking mountains or soothing shores, allowing you to connect with your inner self and find harmony within. The expert yoga instructors guide you through rejuvenating practices, nurturing your body and mind for the day’s adventures ahead.

Enjoy guided hikes through lush forests, invigorating walks along pristine beaches, or a boat excursions to hidden wonders. Explore charming villages, interact with locals, and savour the rich cultural heritage of this enchanting destination. You will also get the chance to taste the best of the local dishes as your chef for the week will be using local ingredients to make authentic Montenegrin meals for you. Please note, the chef is a vegetarian/vegan chef. All dishes will be meat free but will still be showcasing the best of the local cuisine and will be delicious!

When not on the move, unwind in the tranquillity of the retreat, surrounded by lush gardens, a cosy fireplace, and serene common areas. Whether indulging in a relaxing spa day or enjoying free time for exploration, you’ll find moments of serenity and joy in every corner. As the days draws to a close, evening yoga sessions under the stars bring a sense of peace and gratitude, leaving you with a profound connection to the captivating beauty of Montenegro. Please note that this schedule is all optional – it is your holiday so you can be as active or relaxed as you like. If you feel like you need a day off to relax, have a snooze and a massage then do it!

Arrival

After arrival at Tivat airport, you will be picked up by a driver and transported to your yoga home for the next week. Upon arrival, you will get the chance to explore the beautiful grounds of the Villa before having a group briefing about what you can expect from your yoga getaway.

Following this, you will have a home cooked meal from the amazing chef Mhari, who will be with you throughout your stay. You can enjoy a brunch and a two course dinner cooked for you every day, whilst lunches will be something light in the garden or a packed picnic to take on your adventures.

All food is local and seasonal and ingredients are bought from local bakeries, markets and delis to help support the local community. You can expect delicious salads, fresh fruit, wholesome meals, freshly baked bread and of course the best Baklava you have tasted!

Accommodation:

The Olive Mill Retreat

The retreat has an array of different rooms to choose from, depending on what you need for the week.

There are triple rooms with private showers and shared bathrooms,  and 6 single or double rooms, 3 have an ensuite bathroom and 3 have a private shower but shared bathrooms.

Inside, discover a main common room with comfy sofas and a fully equipped kitchen. Outside, a garden space awaits with a fire pit, treehouse, outdoor seating, and a refreshing plunge pool. Indulge in enchanting meals on the patio under the stars or seek shade under the vine-clad pergola. Find the ultimate harmony of comfort and relaxation in this picturesque villa retreat.

Visit Stari Bar and Waterfalls

The daily schedule will typically be:

8am Wake up with hot water and lemon

8:30-10am Morning Yoga practice

10am Brunch is served

11am -5pm Time for activities – Walking, hiking, climbing or just relaxing. Massage and other holistic treatments are on offer.

6pm-7.30pm Evening yoga practice.

7.45pm Dinner.

 

The first full day of your adventure, will start with an early wake up to enjoy the morning freshness in the Montenegrin countryside. Then, you take part in your first yoga session of the trip.

The morning class lasts 1.5 hours and is designed to wake up the body, focusing on energising and invigorating your body, getting it ready for a day of adventure.

Following this, you will be served a home cooked brunch, a delightful spread of local delicacies served with warm hospitality. The aroma of freshly baked bread and aromatic coffee fills the air, inviting you to indulge in a culinary journey that celebrates the region’s flavours and traditions.

Will you stomach now full, it is time to crack on with the next part of your adventure. Head towards Stari Bar, an ancient town steeped in history and charm. Nestled amidst rolling hills, the ruins of Stari Bar transport visitors to a bygone era, where cobblestone streets whisper tales of past civilisations. You will be joined by a local expert guide who will be there to answer any questions you may have and teach you all about the cultures and traditions of Stari Bar.

After a short hike through lush forests and meandering paths, you will be led into an opening that holds a hidden oasis with cascading waterfalls. Nestled in the tranquillity of the forest, these waterfalls are the perfect place to cool off and relax in the crystal clear water.

After some time at the waterfalls, it will be time to head back to the retreat. Once back, you will take part in the evening restorative yoga class. This class is much more about unwinding and relaxing the body and mind through pranayama and meditation.

Following this, you will be able to enjoy a gourmet 2 course meal for dinner, before having the rest of the night off to relax and maybe sit out and look at the stars (which we highly recommend!)

Hike in the Montenegro Mountains

Your day will start with an early start and energetic morning yoga session, waking you up for the day ahead. Again followed by a homecooked and balanced brunch before you head off to do your activity to the day, a hike in the Montenegrin mountains.

Embark on an exhilarating hiking excursion where, the rugged terrain leads you through lush forests, quaint villages, and flower-strewn meadows, offering a symphony of colours and scents . As you ascend higher, panoramic vistas stretch before your eyes, leaving you in awe of the beauty that surrounds you. This unforgettable journey immerses you in the untamed beauty of Montenegro’s mountains and will leave you with amazing landscape pictures to show all your friends and family when you get home.

Then you will be transferred back to the retreat where you can take part in the evening class to stretch and unwind your body from the long hike. But you don’t have to, you can always just relax by the pool or get some well deserved rest before dinner.

Visit Lake Skadar

After breakfast and your morning yoga session at the retreat, you will have some time to chill before heading off on your adventure for the day.

Experience the perfect escape with a taxi ride to the serene Lake Skadar, where tranquillity and adventure await. Dive into crystal-clear waters for a refreshing swim, simply unwind and soak up the sun on the tranquil shores or hop on a boat trip that cruises around the magnificent lake, revealing hidden coves and picturesque landscapes . Whether you seek relaxation or excitement, Lake Skadar promises an idyllic retreat with something for everyone.

Then you will be transferred back to the Olive Mill Retreat for your evening yoga class to unwind after the day. Following this you will have a delicious and authentic local meal cooked for you before having the rest of the evening to relax.

Hike to a beautiful waterfall

Your day will start with an early wake up and a morning yoga class to get your blood pumping, making you feel more awake. After your class, it’s time for a balanced brunch made from local ingredients and showcasing the best of the local cuisine.

Following brunch, you will have some time to relax at the retreat before heading out on an exciting hike. Embark on a magical journey right from the retreat, as you follow the trail leading to a hidden gem. Meandering through lush greenery as you draw closer to the cascading falls the sound of rushing water grows louder and the majestic waterfall comes into view cascading down from moss-covered rocks.

After some time to relax and swim in the refreshing, crystal clear water its time to start the hike back. There might be a little less excitement in the group on the way back, but at the retreat a relaxing yoga class and delicious 2 course meal is waiting for you.

Visit a local beach

After another morning yoga class followed by a delicious brunch to wake up the body and mind, getting them both ready for the day, it’s time to head out for the day.

Today you will be adventuring down to the local beach a tranquil haven where chill time and swimming await. Set against a backdrop of azure waters and golden sands. Embrace the essence of relaxation as you unwind, savouring the simple pleasures of sun, sea, and blissful moments in Montenegro’s coastal paradise.

In the early evening you will head back to the retreat where your yoga instructor will be waiting, ready for the evening session, whilst the chef is working away on yet another delicious dinner.

Free day

Start your day with a blissful morning yoga class, setting a positive and invigorating tone for the day ahead. Hopefully you would have seen a lot of progress in your last session to your first! Then enjoy an amazing freshly cooked brunch.

The rest of the day is yours to embrace as you wish. For sun worshippers, the sandy shores beckon, if exploration is on your agenda, immerse yourself in the local area, venturing into charming towns, vibrant markets, and capturing the essence of Montenegro’s culture and traditions.

For those seeking a more indulgent experience, treat yourself to a spa day, where skilled hands offer rejuvenating massages, facials, and wellness treatments, ensuring total relaxation and pampering. Alternatively, if you have a specific place or activity you’re eager to see or try, leave it to us to organise the perfect excursion for you.
