What you'll do

Get to know Umbria's 'gold', the olive oil that this spectacular, fertile land produces and makes famous the world over, as you ride the famous Olive Path and soak up this peaceful rural landscape.

You’ll meet your guide for the day in Torre del Colle, a commune near the town centre of Bevagna, and head out on a stunning bike tour through the rolling hills and shad vineyards to one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

In Spello, a few kilometres south of Assisi, you will learn all about the Oro Di Spello, or the Gold of Spello, as you will be in the very centre of the production of one of the most famous products in the world – olive oil.

Nowhere else in the world produces olive oil quite like this little corner of Umbria, and you’ll see why when you get to taste and learn about the production of this luxurious extra virgin olive oil, with a light lunch of traditional Umbrian delights.

The bike tour offers the opportunity to take a wonderful journey through the Umbrian countryside, as well as a unique, off-the-beaten-track experience that helps you discover the working side to these picturesque hilltop towns.

I set up a business in Umbria with my boyfriend because we were both working as tour leaders and we wanted to settle down. He is the cyclist, while I'm very interested in Italian food and wine culture. We chose Umbria as our home. We love the quietness and the beautiful green countryside and amazing food. Sustainability is something that we are very interested in particularly in regard to tourism. We definitely wanted to do the tours with bikes and do things local so that we could uphold these values. We realised that combining these values could create something nice and something that people can truly enjoy.

What our travellers are saying...

My girlfriend and I enjoyed a fabulous day biking through the Umbrian countryside from Torre del Colle (Ostello Bello) to the hilltop town of Spello. Daniele guided us, and along the way he shared interesting tidbits of information about the history and culture of the area. We stopped for a tasting at a local microbrewery and then for a delicious lunch and olive oil tasting at a restaurant in town. Daniele is clearly a very experienced bike tour
