What you'll do

Overview

Combine snowmobiling with the highlights of Iceland's south coast from a unique, local perspective. Explore ice caves, glaciers, black sand beaches, geothermally heated lagoons and geysers with expert local guides and leave the country having not just visited Iceland, but experienced it.

Arrive into Keflavik Airport, and embark on the adventure around southern Iceland. You’ll be taken to your chosen accommodation in Reykjavik, the buzzing capital of the country. After settling in meet your guide down town for an introduction to Icelandic cuisine as you stroll around the capital visiting some amazing local eateries and getting an insight into this city that is bursting with character.

In the evening you will be setting off for a cruise to search for the Northern Lights around the Faxaflói bay, far from the lights of the city.

Drink in the inky dark wilderness and, if you’re lucky, catch a glimpse of the otherworldly Aurora Borealis flashing across the sky.

Spend time exploring the famous Golden Circle, visiting mighty geysers, including the world-renowned ‘Geysir’, and the jaw-dropping Gulfoss waterfall. A rush of water cascading into a mighty gorge, this is a serious sight to remember on your south Iceland adventure.

You’ll walk in the footsteps of the Vikings at Þingvellir National Park, and visit the lesser-known Secret Lagoon, a beautiful place where you can soak in geothermally warmed waters, surrounded by dramatic scenery.

Visit the Sky Lagoon, a wonderful outdoor lagoon overlooking the Atlantic ocean. A totally different experience from the Blue lagoon – the water here is clear, not Blue and the Lagoon though large feels more intimate, enclosed in the black volcanic rocks. There is a swim up bar so you can enjoy a holiday toast and a ritual room to experience the seven steps to relaxation – including an awe-inspiring glass-walled sauna overlooking the sea.

On top of this, snowmobile to some of Iceland’s most stunning corners, explore magical ice caves with expert guides, recognise film sets on black sand beaches, and fill your camera’s memory card with countless pictures of cascading waterfalls.

Arrival and Northern Lights

Upon arrival meet your driver and transfer to Reykjavik for check-in.

Search for northern lights on this thrilling winter cruise where you maximise your chances of sightings! Search for Aurora Borealis away from the city lights, on this thrilling winter cruise.

Watching the lights constantly change in intensity, colour and movement in the vast starry space with the gentle lull of the ocean beneath is a thrilling, unique experience.

Hunting the aurora by boat provides you with more comfort as there are heated inside areas, an onboard café and great 360° viewing platform for panoramic views. Your expert aurora guides help you enjoy the lights and cruise to the fullest by giving you information about the auroras as well as answering any questions you may have.

They even take pictures on the tour which you can request by email when you get back home! You can borrow overalls to keep you warm, just remember to bring a hat and gloves.

Venture out into the dark blue yonder of Faxaflói bay in search for the mystical phenomenon that are the northern lights; leaving behind the bright city lights of the northernmost capital in the world, Reykjavík.

As the northern lights are a natural phenomenon we cannot guarantee that you will see them, but you are with professional aurora hunters with years of experience searching for the lights around Reykjavík.

If the lights fail to make an appearance you can try again another day. You are free to go as many times as needed (within two years) to catch the show – at no extra cost!

Golden Circle and Snowmobile

The Pearl, a Golden Circle Super Jeep and Snowmobile tour is an Iceland adventure where you will experience some of Iceland’s most famous and exciting natural phenomena by exploring the Golden Circle, topped off with an unforgettable snowmobile tour on Langjökull glacier.

If you want to experience Iceland’s most popular locations in the privacy of a small group, this is the way to do it.

Your first stop on the Golden Circle is Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home of Iceland’s first
parliament and the oldest extant parliamentary institution in the world.

Founded in AD 930, it is Iceland’s most significant historical site. Also capturing the world’s attention is Þingvellir’s geological features where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates can be seen separating from each other, although, ever-so-slightly year after year.

Now after many millennia, you can see the big gap that’s been formed at this geological marvel.

From Þingvellir, we head inland toward the highly active Geysir Hot Spring area with its boiling mud pits and spouting hot springs.

Continue on to Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most powerful waterfalls. Located on Hvítá river, this waterfall fed by Langjökull Glacier plummets 32 meters in two stages into a rugged canyon.

And while you’re there, keep your fingers crossed; with a little luck, on a sunny day, you’ll be greeted by a rainbow.

To top it all off, drive to Langjökull Glacier for another Iceland adventure where you will dash across snowfields on snowmobiles, gazing at the mountain peaks, while enveloped in this icy realm.

Sky Lagoon

Immerse yourself in warmth at an oceanside geothermal lagoon, as the dramatic North Atlantic Ocean stretches out before you.

Feel yourself relax and unwind as you take in the dazzling sunsets and moody skies and, if you’re lucky, the dancing Northern Lights will put on a stunning show. Then, take your relaxation deeper with the Ritual, a unique seven-step experience.

Step 1: Welcome! It’s time to settle in. Relax in the lagoon, breathe in the refreshing air. The first stop on this journey is the healing warm geothermal waters of the Lagoon. Take it all in.

Step 3: After a cold awakening, visit the sauna for 5 to 10 minutes. Allow the heat to open pores, remove toxins and cleanse your skin. While the heat works its magic, enjoy breathtaking views through the largest single window in Iceland and the sensory treat of coastal aromas and acoustics.

Step 4: Next, balance the heat by stepping slowly through our cold fog-mist space. It’s stimulating and rejuvenating for mind, body and soul. Take a deep breath and refresh your senses!

Step 5: It’s time for re-invigoration. By applying our signature Sky Body Scrub, your skin will be exfoliated and glowing. Slowly and gently, feel the Sky Body Scrub improve how you feel, inside and out. This is the highlight of The Ritual. Feel the glow!

Step 6: Steam will once more open your skin, allowing it to absorb the key therapeutic elements of The Ritual and maximizing the hydrating benefits of the Sky Body Scrub. Moist warmth eases your breathing and improves overall body function. Open up and feel clean and clear.

Step 7: Finally, close your eyes, feel the results and enjoy the moment! From head to toe, inside and out, you’ll feel relaxed, rejuvenated and energized. Slow down and enjoy it!

South Coast and Glacier Hike

Your day starts at 8:00am, when your driver collects you from central Reykjavik.

Our first stop is the majestic Skógafoss waterfall, one of the most iconic ones in the country. You might remember it from the popular Game of Thrones show, where it played a significant role. We will continue our tour with some excitement, the glacier hike on the Sólheimajökull glacier, which is connected to Mýrdalsjökull, the fourth biggest glacier in Iceland.

Your guide with provide you with safety instructions and check your equipment before you step out onto the ice! This activity is approximately 2.5 hours longs with 1.5 hours spent on the glacier.

Afterwards you will visit the world-famous Reynisfjara black sand beach. Before heading back to Reykjavik, you will also stop by the beautiful Seljalandsfoss waterfall, which is located right under the infamous Eyjafjallajökull volcano, famous for its eruptions in 2010 which halted many flights around Europe. If the weather is nice enough, you’ll be able to go behind the waterfall’s curtains and even see the somewhat hidden little cousin, Gljúfrabúi, which is a waterfall hiding in the mountainside.
