Whale Watching and Reykjavik Food Walk

Whale Watching

Today starts with a wonderful whale watching cruise, starting from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík. After breakfast take a leisurely stroll down to the old harbour to join your boat and go in search of the wonderful whales living off the coast of Iceland. There is an abundance of these majestic creatures and there is always a good chance of multiple sightings. The most common of the sea mammals in the area are the Minke whale, White-beaked Dolphins and Harbour Porpoises and occasionally we see other species including the Humpback whales, Killer whales/Orcas and even Fin whales, but of course we can never guarantee sightings as these are free creatures and they swim at their own will. Your whale watching tour will end at the harbour, close to the meeting point for your next excursion, so we recommend that you take a short stroll, towards the meeting point. Hopefully your morning out at sea has given you an appetite!

Reykjavik Food Walk

Amazing food doesn’t just happen. Behind it are fascinating stories and age-old traditions. Join a small group as you take a relaxing walk around Reykjavik, led by a proud local food lover who is passionate about sharing Iceland’s incredible cuisines with fun, hungry and curious travellers!

In the tastiest sightseeing tour in Iceland, we explore downtown Reykjavik through delicious local cuisines that you would never come across on your own. We will stroll around the city and visit 5-6 wonderful local restaurants with a fun & knowledgeable guide by your side.

After your tour make your way back to the hotel, or stay out and sample Reykjavik’s happy hour!

We will continue our tour with some excitement, the glacier hike on the Sólheimajökull glacier, which is connected to Mýrdalsjökull, the fourth biggest glacier in Iceland.

Your guide with provide you with safety instructions and check your equipment before you step out onto the ice! This activity is approximately 2.5 hours longs with 1.5 hours spent on the glacier.

Afterwards you will visit the world-famous Reynisfjara black sand beach. Before heading back to Reykjavik, you will also stop by the beautiful Seljalandsfoss waterfall, which is located right under the infamous Eyjafjallajökull volcano, famous for its eruptions in 2010 which halted many flights around Europe.
