South Coast and Glacier Hike

Your day starts at 8:00am, when your driver collects you from central Reykjavik.

Our first stop is the majestic Skógafoss waterfall, one of the most iconic ones in the country. You might remember it from the popular Game of Thrones show, where it played a significant role. We will continue our tour with some excitement, the glacier hike on the Sólheimajökull glacier, which is connected to Mýrdalsjökull, the fourth biggest glacier in Iceland.

Your guide with provide you with safety instructions and check your equipment before you step out onto the ice! This activity is approximately 2.5 hours longs with 1.5 hours spent on the glacier.

Afterwards you will visit the world-famous Reynisfjara black sand beach. Before heading back to Reykjavik, you will also stop by the beautiful Seljalandsfoss waterfall, which is located right under the infamous Eyjafjallajökull volcano, famous for its eruptions in 2010 which halted many flights around Europe. If the weather is nice enough, you’ll be able to go behind the waterfall’s curtains and even see the somewhat hidden little cousin, Gljúfrabúi, which is a waterfall hiding in the mountainside.

Departure

Sadly, it’s time to say goodbye to Iceland, but you will be leaving with fantastic memories and, we are sure, with a yearning to return to this beautiful country. Your driver will pick you up for your private transfer from Hotel Ranga to Keflavik airport for your flight home.
