What you'll do

Overview

This exclusive short break is in Iceland is the perfect getaway for any romantic occasion. Search for the spectacular Northern Lights first hand, relax in the tranquil natural springs at the Sky Lagoon and try the local cuisine on a food walk around Reykjavik.

The trip starts with an evening cruise to search for the Northern Lights. If the conditions are right, you will have the opportunity to see this amazing natural phenomenon in the still dark skies over Iceland.

Visit the beautiful natural Sky Lagoon in which you can take the seven steps to relaxation and enjoy Iceland’s newest geothermal experience. Then enjoy a guided leisurely food walk around Reykjavik tasting some delicious traditional local food and a couple of drinks as well, in some renowned eateries  and secret local hangouts.

All in all, this is one of the most memorable activity holidays in Iceland you could ever hope to find, and will create stories you’ll retell over and over.

Northern Lights Cruise

On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel where you will have plenty of time to settle in and explore your surroundings.

In the evening you will be picked up for your Northern Lights cruise. On the tour we will take you out into the dark blue yonder of Faxaflói bay in search for the mystical phenomenon we call the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights, leaving behind the bright city lights of the capital Reykjavík. The open top viewing decks provide the perfect platform for witnessing the dazzling spectacle while the heated indoor lounge is a great place to take a break and warm up in between sightings. Your guide will be at hand to answer your questions while you enjoy Mother Nature’s light show and starry skies wrapped up in one of  the warm overalls provided on board. The large indoor saloon has toilet facilities and café where you can buy light refreshments.

Please note we can’t guarantee that you will see the lights due to conditions however, if you don’t get to see them, you will be welcomed on the cruise the next night to try again.

Accommodation: Sand Hotel

The hotel’s relaxed atmosphere and elegant boutique design make it a great place to stay, with a stylish cafe and bar on the ground floor and lots of shops and restaurants on the door step. Through history the hotel’s surroundings have been in the centre of culture and commerce Reykjavik.

Sky Lagoon & Reykjavik Food Walk

Enjoy breakfast in the stylish hotel cafe with delicious pressed juices, fruits, cereals, skyr and cold cuts with local bread and pastries.

Sky Lagoon

After a leisurely breakfast you will have the opportunity totally unwind and relax your mind, body and soul in the wonderfully warm geothermal spa waters at the Sky Lagoon. Just a short drive from the hotel, and a million miles from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This indulgent escape will leave you rejuvenated, transformed and connected to the elements. The lagoon overlooks the sea and you can breathe in the refreshing ocean air, float through a natural canyon and take in the view of Mount Keilir.  The relaxing seven step ritual includes the journey towards the lagoon’s infinity edge, an icy cold plunge, sauna with a breathtaking view, cool rain-mist, sky body scrub, steam room and relaxing shower. Float in the warm geothermal waters, enjoy a glass of bubbly and celebrate the moment!

Reykjavik Food Walk

In the tastiest sightseeing tour in Iceland, we will join a small group to explore down town Reykjavik through delicious local cuisines that you would never come across in your typical “to-do in Iceland” itinerary! We will stroll around the city and visit 5-6 wonderful local restaurants with a fun & knowledgeable guide by your side.

You will visit everything from well-known ‘must visit restaurants’ to small family run businesses and secret local hangouts. While everything we will have on the tour is traditional Icelandic, we decided to leave off the menu the fermented shark, rams testicles and sheep head, which are definitely an acquired taste!  Instead we explore why we Icelanders are justifiably proud of our locally grown and harvested food, focusing on the most delicious traditional cuisines.

Departure Day

This magical experience draws to a close as your driver collects you from your hotel and takes you to the airport for your flight home. It is time to leave Iceland with wonderful memories of this fantastic country, people and landscapes. There is so much more still to discover, on your next visit, and we look forward to welcoming you back!
