Our Host: Augusto

Augusto was born and raised in Puglia, sunny South of Italy. After graduating in accountancy, he specialized in International Trade and that was his first approach with foreign people. The experience proved to be a revelation: realizing that he could find a way to sustain a new lifestyle, he qualified as Technical Director of Travel Agency in Bari, where he began working in tourism. It was back when he acted as a consultant for local food producers, aiming to establish their presence on the foreign markets and to do so inviting hungry Purchasing Directors from all over the world to visit the production sites in Puglia, that he realized how happy these businessmen were with their short experience in the region and how frequently they returned with family and friends to enjoy the beauties on a weekly stay. The business was then inverted from selling foodstuffs through the region to selling the region through its foods (and not just that, of course) and the thrilling adventure began…

Augusto loves life on the road and believes that touring is the greatest way to see a new country up close and experience a new culture; slow down, see more. Genuinely interested in people, he enjoys the quirky side of life, and is always eager to share his love of gourmet food and fine wines with a willing audience. He speaks Italian and English.
