What you'll do

Overview

The rich gastronomic scene in the city of Rouen and Normandy makes it the perfect place to learn the French language as well as the art of French cooking; on this unique 1-week course you’ll be combining morning language lessons with afternoon hands-on cookery for all language levels.

Choosing to combine learning the French language with hands-on cooking lessons in France is the best way to accelerate your language learning as you’ll be immersed in the language and local culture throughout your stay.

On this unique language course you’ll be learning French in the mornings before heading into the kitchen 3 times during your stay to learn the art of French cooking, typically whipping up French classics which can include macarons, fraisier (strawberry gâteau) and other french classics

You’ll be speaking French from day 1 and find yourself progressing rapidly as you practise your new skills and vocabulary both inside and outside the classroom. Taught by highly qualified native French speakers, groups are small and you’ll be placed according to your level when you arrive so you can be sure that you’ll be making the most of your time there.

The friendly staff at the language school also organise a weekly schedule of social and cultural activities – it’s a great way to meet other people at the school, practice your French and experience the very best Rouen and the region of Normandy.

A Typical Day

– Arrive at the school by 8:15am on your first day for a short level test to assess your understanding of the language and be placed in the right group class for your level
– French classes run daily Monday to Friday each week
– Classes start at 9:30am and finish at 1pm
– You will have 3 group classes per day lasting 60 minutes each
– You will have a 30 minute coffee break in the morning
– On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons you will have your cooking lessons from 2:30-5:30pm
– Your cooking lessons will be hands-on as you typically learn to create macarons, eclairs, and Normandy apple tart

What can I do after the language lessons?
