What you'll do

Overview

This mixture of French and cooking is perfect for those looking a deeper look into Montpellier and its culture. You will come away from this trip with great memories, new friends, a better understanding of the language and a few new recipes to share with your friends back at home!

The course includes 20 lessons a week (15 hours) and is available for anyone, beginners (A0) all the way to advanced speakers (C1).

You will be tested before arrival so that the teacher can understand what level you will be starting at. Through interactive sessions where you will be speaking as well as writing and learning the basics 0f the language you will leave a much better linguist.

Class are from 10 am to 1:15pm on Monday and then 9 am to 12:15pm Tuesday to Friday. These will all be taught by an expert who graduated from French University in French as a Foreign Language. The teacher will use a variety of methods to keep the course fun and interactive to keep you engaged.

At the end of your course you will have a final test to see how you have progressed and will be rewarded with an official certificate of your level.

On top of this, you will have the opportunity to discover local and seasonal products that you will cook according to French traditions with the techniques that the Chef will teach you.

You will discover the fresh products he has purchased for the recipes, you will learn how to cook them and make the most of them! The cooking class will be followed by a tasting/meal accompanied by a wine chosen by the Chef. Enjoy your meal!

A Typical Day

Your lessons on each day will take place Monday-Friday, with them running from 10:00 to 13:15 on Mondays, and from 09:00 to 12:15 on Tuesdays through to Fridays.

You’ll also receive two cooking lessons during your week in Montpellier, where you’ll learn some of the secrets of French cuisine and get to practice your French further in a fun, hands-on setting.

What can I do in my free time?

Many people choose to travel solo on our language holidays, as they’re a great way of meeting like-minded people who want to immerse themselves in new cultures as they travel the world.

In Montpellier, you can explore the maze of grand boulevards and shady old town alleys that hide lively pubs and bars, or spend some time lounging on the nearby white-sand beaches.

Visit some of the beautiful architectural designs in the area and learn about the city’s rich history on your day off. You will also get the chance to learn about the local cuisine and its delicacies. You are also only a short drive from the coast which would be the perfect break from all your hard work!
