Typical course schedule
You will have 1.5 hours of surf lessons per day. Lesson times vary depending on the wave conditions so it is important to check the start times with the surf school 24 hours in advance of the start date of your course.

Using techniques perfected over more than 50 years, your excellent surfing lessons will be run by experienced and highly qualified surf instructors who will have you up on your board and riding the waves in no time. The team is led by Christophe, whose father founded the surf school back in 1966. Christophe continues to run the school with the same passion, experience and spirit of his father, Jo.

Learn to surf at Biarritz’s very first surf school on the beach of the Cote des Basques in Biarritz; this friendly and professional surf school has been teaching people of all ages how to surf during excellent and fun surf courses since 1966.
The surf school is located on Biarritz’s central Plage de la Cote des Basques, a wonderful stretch of beach just a short walk from the city centre.
The beach is often completely covered at high tide but also has the largest area at low tide. Its conditions are ideal for beginner surfers and longboarders, offering long and easy waves to surf.

The journey from Biarritz airport to the surf school by taxi takes approximately 10 minutes.
- Surfing lessons are suitable for all levels of surfing experience
- Minimum age 10
- You must be able to swim at least 25 metres
- Surf lessons run daily from April to November
- You will be kitted out in top quality Billabong wet suits and surfboards
- The surf instructor will help you to select the best board for your level and surf conditions
- 15€/hour for surf rentals (surfboard + wetsuit) outside of lessons
