Escape to the Winter wonderland that is Lapland and enjoy a 3 night adventure in this stunning village of glass roofed igloos and luxury suites. Create lasting memories on a husky adventure, reindeer journey and fingers crossed you spot one of the wonders of the world, the northern lights!

Meet your driver at the airport and your luxury Apukka Resort is only 15 minutes away! Situated in the middle of authentic Lappish nature, you will feel like you’re in Narnia.

One of the highlights of the trip will be the 2 hour Husky Adventure. Meet the stunning and friendly pack of Huskies. Stroke them, pose for photos and listen to stories of the most loved animals of the North. Enjoy a 1 hour safari and see how much the huskies love pulling you through the white-scape of forest trails and hills. You’ll have the novel opportunity to be the “musher”, steering and controlling the huskies yourself!

The Adventure doesn’t stop there… take in in amazing views during your Reindeer Journey. Travel through the snowy forests on a reindeer sleigh and experience traditional arctic transport as a part of your family Lapland holiday! You’ll be surrounded the stunning Lappish nature as the reindeer go at a peaceful pace through the white forests.  Step off the sled knowing far more about the history of reindeer and herders in Finnish Lapland than you knew before!You’ll have plenty of time to relax and enjoy your tranquil surroundings. Perhaps sip a hot drink and light snack by an open fire.

This once in a life time experience includes unique accommodation with stunning panoramic views of the sky from your very own bed, perfect for glimpsing the Northern Lights!

You’ll also have the option to add on an amazing Snowmobile Safari to Santa Claus Village, where you’ll have the opportunity to meet Santa Claus himself! This activity includes a snowmobile ride, a delicious lunch, and time to spend wandering around the shops of Santa Claus Village. This activity must be selected as an extra at check-out.

Meet your driver at the airport and after 10-15 minutes drive, we will arrive to the stunning Apukka Resort. Check in to your accommodation and spend some time to enjoying the beautiful snowy views before dinner.

Lunch & dinner buffets will be served in Apukkas’ restaurant where you will enjoy Nordic cuisine with modern twist and delicious locally produced ingredients. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served  buffet style in this elegant setting, with views out over the snowy landscape and a roaring fire to keep you cosy.

After a delicious dinner, retreat back to your cosy accommodation for a good nights sleep under the stars!

Apukka Husky Adventure

Meet our howling furry friends, the huskies of Apukka, on this daytime adventure, including an hour-long safari!

Huskies are one of the most loved animals of the North, and you will understand why when you meet the pack at Apukka. You can pet them, take photos with them and listen to stories about their lives. Witness them loving their job as they pull you across trails in the forests  The highlight of the day is when you get to be the musher yourself, controlling the pack of huskies pulling your sled!

The rest of the day is up to you with many possibilities! Choose from another activity such as horse sleigh, snowmobiling or ice-fishing, or  If you’d prefer to chill out then why not try one of the sauna experiences. They range from a sauna carriage, lakeside sauna, to Arctic bath experience! There are also Northern Lights tours available on foot or by vehicle.

Snowmobile Safari to Santa Claus Village

This amazing excursion will take you from Apukka Resort to Santa Claus Village through the snowy forest. This snowmobile safari will enable you to combine snowmobiling, and the possibility to meet Santa Claus! You will have an amazing time exploring Santa’s Village, where you will be provided with a delicious lunch. Spend time browsing for gifts to take home, and send postcards home with unique Artic Circle stamps from the Santa Claus post office!

Adults will be able to drive the snowmobile whilst children can travel in a warm and covered sled. The tour includes winter clothing (thermal overall, boots, mittens and balaclava), a snowmobile driving lessons, the snowmobile ride, lunch, and of course the main event – meeting Santa Claus himself!

This excursion is an additional activity that you will be able to add on at checkout.

Apukka Reindeer Journey

Today you will take a ride back in time as you travel through the snowy forests on a reindeer sleigh. This traditional, arctic way of transportation allows you to experience the peace and purity of the Lappish nature. Following a leisurely pace, our reindeer will lead you on a magical journey through the forests. Enjoy the silence of the woods and the still atmosphere.

Afterwards it’s time to relax with a hot drink and light snack by an open fire. You will return from this trip knowing a lot more about the life of the reindeer and the reindeer herders in Finnish Lapland.

You may like to spend the rest of your day visiting Santas Village which is just 15 minutes away. This is where Santa Clause lives and works with his elves. You can visit the post office and even see the man himself.

It is time to say goodbye to Lapland. Take the last deep breaths of fresh air and save the magical moments with us in your memory. After check out, you will be transferred back to the airport.

Aurora Cabin

The Aurora Cabin provides a double bed with a sky view and ensuite bathroom. There is also an electric fireplace and sofa (double sofa bed). The panorama glass roof will give you an unforgettable experience as the arctic nature surrounds you from the warmth inside. The glass is heated and stays clear of frost and snow at all times!

Sleeps up to 4 people in twin beds and a double sofa bed.

Aurora Cabin Superior

The Aurora Cabin Superior offers the same facilities as the regular Aurora Cabins, but with upgraded interior designing.

Kammi Suite

Indulge in ultimate luxury with the Kammi Suite in the Lappish village.

This expansive and expertly designed suite caters to couples and small families. The interior decoration is inspired by traditional lappish style and the suite has a double bed, as well as two sofas which convert into single beds to increase sleeping capacity.

There is a kitchenette with refrigerator, induction hob, microwave, and hot beverage appliances, giving you the independence to be able to whip up your own evening snacks or make a tasty cup of hot chocolate as you gaze out at the Northern Lights.

Climate-controlled for your comfort, the Kammi Suite is also fully-equipped with a private bathroom with a shower and toilet. Cuddle beside the electric fireplace and relax with the ones closest to you before retreating to the loft, up a spiral staircase, where a 360° sky view awaits you.

Kammi suites have a double bed upstairs, under the glass ceiling. There is a sofa bed on the ground floor. If there are two people sharing the Kammi suite, who do not want to share a double bed, one person can take the double bed and the sofa bed can be made up for the second person – there is a charge for this of £50 per night.

What are the meal options?

During your stay lunch* and dinner will be included each in a buffet setting at beautiful Restaurant Aitta.
*Lunch is not included on arrival and departure day

Surrounded by the history and tales of the 100-year-old timber log walls, Restaurant Aitta transports you to a rustic time of mystical stories and the legends of Lapland. Tastefully decorated and featuring a large fireplace and a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape and Lake Olkka, Restaurant Aitta specialises in experiences – both on your plate and within its four walls. Enjoy a meal and allow your senses to surrender to the delicious aromas of the Lapland.

Apukka’s shores were bustling with fishermen in the olden days, providing a bounty of deliciousness that we have incorporated into our present-day menus. The surrounding forests, full of berries and mushrooms, injected elements of colour and texture that made every meal nourishing to the body and comforting for the soul. The old tavern that once stood here hosted travelers from all around the country and world, always providing a place of comfort where the food was always hardy and plentiful, and the glasses were never empty.

At Apukka Resort, we honour the past and cherish the traditions of old Apukka. Serving delicious, Nordic cuisine, Restaurant Aitta has blended classic flavours and ingredients with a contemporary flair, using as many locally-sourced ingredients as possible.

What are check-in / check-out timings?

Check-In will be starting from 16.00 until 22.30pm on the day of your arrival.
Check-Out will be starting from 7.30 until 12.00am on the day of departure.
In case of room change same times apply.

Late Arrival: In case you are arriving later than 22.00, please inform us well in advance. Otherwise we cannot ensure that check-in will be available.

Are transfers included?

Yes! You will be collected from and dropped off at Rovaniemi Airport.

What activities are included and how long are they?

Apukka Husky Adventure, 2 hours

What is the age for a child at Apukka?

The age for children packages are 4-15.

If your child is age 0-3 please note that they can travel free of charge, however this is based upon your child sharing a bed with an Adult.

If you would like a cot for your child, there is a small fee. Please request this on booking.

If you would like a bed for your child aged 0-3, you must add them to your booking as a child.

Are all the activities suitable for children?

It is not recommended that children under 4 are taken on husky rides or snowmobiles as it gets extremely cold!

Also the Northern Lights activities are not suitable for young children.

What additional information do I need to know about the Snowmobile Safari?

The activity lasts 6 hours. The meeting time for our safaris is always before the starting time of the safari. If you miss the meeting time and point safari will not be refunded. Special diet options (vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.) are available upon request.

This activity is only available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. 

The driver of a snowmobile must be at least 18 years old and in possession of a driving license valid in Finland. If a child over 140 cm wishes to sit in a snowmobile as a passenger, a full adult price will be charged. In this case, you need to book the child as an adult.

How many people can sleep in the Kammi Suite?

Kammi suites have a double bed upstairs, under the glass ceiling. There is a sofa bed on the ground floor. If there are two people sharing the Kammi suite, who do not want to share a double bed, one person can take the double bed and the sofa bed can be made up for the second person - there is a charge for this of £50 per night.
