Welcome to Rovaniemi!

When you touch down at Rovaniemi airport, we’ll be waiting there to transfer you directly to the incredible Arctic Treehouse Hotel. Drive through the ethereal pine forest, and arrive at your very own treehouse suite, nestled within the still, white trees.

Your Arctic suite has a large bed for two, and Panoramic windows looking out to the forest and snowy wonderland. In some of the suites there is also a cabin bed which can sleep one child or adult and this quirky bed has a ladder to climb up and down. There is a luxury ensuite bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities.

Take some time to settle in, unpack or explore, then you can enjoy a delicious dinner in the Rakkas restaurant or one of the other local eateries.

After dinner, the evening is yours to enjoy. You can choose to relax in front of a roaring log fire or you could book a trip to see the  Northern Lights

Then head back to your warm treehouse suite for a night of lying under the ink-black sky, gazing through the clear window to catch a glimpse of the incredible Northern Lights.

Visit Santa Claus and See the Northern Lights!

Today you will have the morning free so this is your chance to visit the man himself, Santa Claus! Take the short walk from your hotel to Spend time in Santa’s Village and enjoy the magical Christmas atmosphere. Spend as much time as you wish walking around and enjoying all that his village has to offer, you can see Santa’s post office where all the letters from children all over the world are sent, sorted and delivered, the elves workshop, independent shops with Christmas souvenirs, Lappish crafts and of course Santa’s office, where you can go along and meet Santa Claus.

In the afternoon you’ll be collected to enjoy your time in this winter wonderland with a safari led by your own dog team. When you arrive at the farm you will be amazed how excited the dogs are to start their run through the beautiful landscape, and as you set off through the forest it is an unforgettable experience.

You’ll be able to drive your own team of dogs as you ride the sled as the ”musher” and have time to spend with the dogs after your exhilarating ride. They love the attention and are more than happy to have a tummy rub and photos!

Reindeer Farm Visit and Husky Safari

After a buffet breakfast at your accommodation you have time to relax or to enjoy the snow outside with taboggans or snow shoes.

In the afternoon you will visit a local reindeer farm to meet the famous gentle Lappish creatures up close and explore the Taiga forest by sleigh on your reindeer safari (around 3 hours). Once you arrive with your guide to the farm, you will be invited to take your seat in the reindeer sleigh. The sleigh is suitable for adults and children to sit together and as you glide through the snowy forest and white scenery, you may spot some other arctic animals, or at least see their tracks in the snow.

When you come back from the safari, which is around 2.5 kms, a warm cup of coffee or tea and traditional snacks will wait for you on the farm. The herder will explain all about their lifestyle and the tradition of reindeer husbandry in Lapland. This is the best time to ask questions and feed your curiosity! Before leaving and heading back to Rovaniemi, you may ask your guide to spend a bit more time in the farm if you would like to.

Snowmobile Trip

Today, you’ll head right out into the Lapland wilderness,  on a thrilling snowmobile ride that crosses wide open fells, quiet forests and rolling, snow-covered hills joining in on a Snowmobile safari through remote inland forests and lakes. On this 1-hour driving snowmobile safari you will enjoy some amazing scenery.

Your expert guide will provide all the instructions you need before you set off through an unforgettable trail in the Arctic Circle area. You will be driving in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each snowmobile, with opportunity to switch places during the trip. Due to the dramatic topography, a reduced speed is held during parts of the tour. You will love the thrilling excitement of snowmobiling through snowy forests and beautiful nature of the Arctic Circle.

Our group sizes are small and the speed and the length of the safari will depend on each group. Therefore, these safaris are suited for families as well as for those who are looking for a real adrenaline boost. The one-hour safari is great for families and non-experienced drivers. The snowmobile trail will take you to the most beautiful places in the arctic circle area.
