What you'll do

This unique glamping pod retreat made for two is a wonderful and tranquil place to relax in the beautiful landscape of the Norfolk broads, with an amazing variety of flora and fauna on your doorstep. In this secluded spot you can hire a canoe or paddle board, or just relax in your hot tub.

Ideal for a special occasion or even a honeymoon, Swallowtail pod is situated on a large site, but with only two other glamping pods in the vicinity, making it a perfect tranquil place to relax unwind and enjoy the wonderful Norfolk broads. Located right by the river this adults only site is a quiet place to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature all around. Each pod has its own outdoor area, with hot tub and garden furniture.

There is exclusive access from your unusual accommodation to Broad Fen, a privately owned Special Area of Conservation (SAC), right on your doorstep,which is 95 acres where you can walk to your hearts content through the woodlands and fields taking in all the many species of birds, insects and animals as well as many rare plants in this area.  If you would like to spend some time on the river there are canoes and SUPs to hire.

Included in your glamping pod are:

The glamping retreat is owned and operated by the Paterson family, who have been farming in Dilham since 1946. The focus at the farm is on conservation and respect for the local wildlife and the environment. Luke and Louise have put sustainability at the heart of the business and are delighted to have succeeded in achieving a carbon negative status, when the operation was assessed in 2022.

Two of the farm’s main crops are maize and rye, which are supplied to a local anaerobic digestion plant. These energy crops produce enough green energy to power 6,000 homes every year. Location

The glamping pods are the perfect experience for those who love being close to nature.

Located at Broad Fen in the most northerly part of the Norfolk Broads, Britain’s largest protected wetland. This vast network of waterways contains many Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and provides a special kind of habitat where certain species thrive. The area is home to some of the rarest plants and animals in the UK.

FAQs

Are children allowed?

No, the site is for adults only. The three glamping pods all take maximum two people, minimum age 18.

Are dogs allowed?

No pets are allowed on the site.

What time is check in and check out?

Arrival is after 4pm and check out is at 10am.

Are there shops and restaurants close by?

The nearest pubs are The Cross Keys (1.5m) and The Wayford Bridge Inn (3.5m). There is a large Tesco in Stalham ( approx 5miles) and Waitrose, Sainsbury's, cafes and shops in North Walsham ( approx 7 miles).

Can the BBQ pack be altered for food preferences?

You can have a fruit hamper if you prefer (unfortunately hampers are made for 2 ppl from the local butcher, so can't be a mix). Just be sure to let us know in the accommodation details when checking out.
