What you'll do

Journey into the depths of the Old City, and get to know London like never before, with incredible sights and fascinating stories you simply wouldn't see or hear without the help of an expert local guide.

Meet at Temple tube station, and then prepare to dive into the rich, fascinating London past, as you explore the labyrinth of alleys that lead you to atmospheric old pubs, medieval courtyards and forgotten lanes, where countless stories are waiting to be told – most unknown to the locals.

Explore the tiny alleyways around Temple and Fleet Street, stumble upon ancient cloisters and churches, and follow your expert guide to lost rivers and wells.

Samuel Johnson once said, “Why, Journey into the depths of the Old City, and get to know London like never before, with incredible sights and fascinating stories you simply wouldn’t see or hear without the help of an expert local guide.

Sir, you find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No, Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.”

By the end of this tour around the depths of London, you’ll discover that his statement couldn’t be any more true.

Tour guide, entrepreneur, London enthusiast with a love of telling stories and digging up forgotten history!

All of the tours which I lead are unique, and researched with an eye on the unusual, quirky and forgotten history of London.

I love researching and discovering hidden or unknown parts of the city, and when this is combined with real excitement about meeting people and telling them about the rich history all around them, I believe this helps make my tours so special.

I am told I have a kind and warm personality which puts people at ease, creating a lovely atmosphere where clients genuinely feel part of the experience.

Location

The tour starts outside Temple station in Central London, served by the Circle and District lines.

From there, you’ll explore some of the oldest and most fascinating parts of London, including the area around Fleet Street and up almost as far as St Paul’s Cathedral.

The tour will end a five-minute walk from St Paul’s, and around ten minutes from Temple, and your guide will be more than happy to provide you with recommendations as to what to do next.

Adam was so knowledgeable, friendly and had a great sense of humour and made us immediately feel at ease. He was very accommodating and allowed us to get a cuppa, use the toilet and all the while being very Covid safe too. We are already planning on next walk! You really feel that even left field questions are not a problem as our guide really knew his stuff.
