What you'll do

Truly immerse yourself in the rugged coastline landscape of North Devon, and experience the thrill of coasteering, of navigating this challenging terrain in a totally unique way with experienced local guides.

No matter who you are or which walk of life you’re from, coasteering North Devon is an amazing experience you’ll never forget. Coasteering is a mix of scrambling up and down the rock face of the beautiful North Devon coast and leaping into the sea from various heights.

Each session starts at 14:30 and lasts around 2.5 hours, including time to get kitted and ready for action. All of our sessions can be adapted to suit the needs of your group. All you need is the ability to swim and a basic level of confidence in the water. You’ll be provided with a wetsuit, a buoyancy aid and a water-sports helmet and you will be accompanied by an experienced instructor through your whole adventure.

Safety is paramount to everything we do. We comply with the latest national coasteering guidelines and work with small instructor-to-pupil ratios.

We operate from the headland at Baggy Point. All of our instructors know this area of the coastline inside out which not only keeps you safe but also guarantees you’ll experience the best wave surges around.

By the time you finish, feeling reinvigorated and satisfied, you’ll know that you’ve explored this stunning patch of coastline in a truly unique fashion, and really made the most of the beautiful landscape.

Hi, I’m Will, I have been surfing the North Devon coast since early childhood and am at my happiest when in the water, whatever the weather. I am lucky enough to have travelled far and wide, surfing big waves in Lanzarote, Portugal, Indonesia, Mexico, Ireland, California and Hawaii. I began working for local Outdoor Pursuit Centres at the age of 18, teaching surfing and coasteering, while studying Outdoor Pursuits at Petroc College. For a couple of winter seasons I worked in Austria as a ski instructor, and still love to get on the slopes with skis or a snowboard whenever time allows. I and my team of instructors have a passion for all the activities on the coastline and in the water, whether you’re looking for the thrill of coasteering, the challenge of rock climbing or fancy hitting the waves with our surf and paddle boarding lessons, our team is here to make sure you have a fantastic time exploring the North Devon coastline.

FAQs

What do I need to bring for Coasteering?

We supply wetsuits, helmets and buoyancy aids. All you need to bring is a towel, some shorts to go over the top of the wetsuit to protect it and a drink. We do advise that, due to the English weather being quite unpredictable at times, it is a good idea to bring some warm clothes to get changed into afterwards. Also, it is useful to bring some change as we meet in the National Trust carpark which costs between £5-£6, depending on the time of year.

What's the minimum age for this activity?

The minimum age is 10.
