Overview

The Food Safari Bonito & Pantanal takes travellers on a journey to discover these two amazing destinations through the traditional cultures and gastronomy, certainly a lifetime experience.

Located in the middle of the astonishing formation of the Sierra da Bodoquena at Mato Grosso do Sul State, Bonito is known as the premier ecotourism destination in Brazil.

The place shelters fantastic crystal-clear water’s rivers, dozens of caves and caverns, stunning waterfalls and pristine nature: a paradise for nature lovers and adventurers.

The highlights are the river floating /snorkelling tours, but the region also shelters a rich culture that is reflected in its gastronomic productions.

Bonito is located very close to the Pantanal, one of the most pristine environments on Earth. Covering an area of about 210,000 sq km, the Pantanal is the world’s largest wetlands and boasts an extraordinary diversity of fauna and flora in astonishing colourful landscapes.

Pantaneiros are the local people who were born and live in the Pantanal wetlands, and hold traditional culture and lifestyle formed and influenced by different cultures and the peculiar characteristics of such an isolated natural ecosystem.

Campo Grande / Bonito

Arrival in Campo Grande / MS and meeting the host in the airport lobby.
Departure to Bonito on a 4 hour journey on paved road. Check-in at the lodge and dinner out at restaurant that
has prepared a menu-tasting with regional dishes including the award winning dish of the house: Mojica de Pintado. Overnight.

Departure after breakfast to the Rio da Prata – Bonito’s most award winning snorkeling tour.
The morning begins with the preparation of some dishes of the lunch menu: Sopa Paraguaia, Linguiça de Maracaju and Doce de Leite.
After lunch, snorkeling activity along the river with
an approximate duration of 4 hours to observe the aquatic fauna.
Walking tour at Macaw’s Sink Hole and return to the pousada at the end of the day.
Overnight.

Bonito/Pantanal

Departure after breakfast to the Pantanal.
Arrival for lunch at Fazenda Pantaneira.
In the middle of the afternoon, departure for jeep safari and piranha fishing.
This three hours tour includes birds observation and other wild species of the Pantanal.
On returning to the lodge, prepare the Piranha Soup & Ceviche with fresh ingredients.

Pantanal

The early morning activity is to milk the cows.
After breakfast hands-on cooking activity: Fresh cheese and some regional dishes for the lunch orientated by the host and local chef.
After tasting the lunch, horse back riding in the Pantanal fields looking for wildlife.
Dinner & night safari for wildlife viewing after dinner. Overnight.

Pantanal

Departure after to Campo Grande and then transportation back home.
