What you'll do

A peaceful cottage with river views, nestled in the beautiful Welsh countryside. With a modern interior design and fully equipped kitchen, it is perfect for a family getaway

The calf pen is an original farm building which has been beautifully renovated  in a minimalist and contemporary in design.

The farm has won several awards for sustainability and eco friendly practices including solar power and biomass heating.

Downstairs it is open plan, the lounge area has doors opening out onto a lovely riverside terrace.  A spring water cascade tumbles down the old sandstone river bank into the river where wild trout,  dippers, herons and grey wagtails are all regularly spotted along the river.

The fully equipped kitchen with a fridge/freezer and cooker is perfect for preparing those early morning breakfasts or sunset dinners to eat al fresco along the bank of the river. The downstairs wet room boasts a beautiful free standing marble basin, toilet and luxurious rainforest shower.

The upstairs bathroom, situated between the master double bedroom and the twin bedroom, has a bath, WC and washbasin and views onto the old granary.  The master bedroom window looks upstream towards a picturesque waterfall.

The cottage is situated on a 15th century farm once owned by a Welsh King and has a hundred acres of picturesque park land to explore – wonderful for those looking for a unique place to stay.

If you are looking for a self catering short break in Wales or a longer holiday, the calf pen ( or Lloc Llo) is fantastically located for the ‘must see’ sights of South Wales, including the Gower Peninsula, the Brecon Beacons National Park and the seaside city of Swansea. There are many activities for the whole family ranging from mountain biking in Afan Forest to visiting ancient Welsh castles, or horse riding.
